I put off trying on dresses for way too long because I’m self-conscious about my size. I got super lucky that they had this one in stock for me to buy. If I had to order it, it never would have gotten here in time! I’m also 5’11” and the dress is too long for me, I can’t imagine how much would need to be chopped off for average height women. I think plus size ladies look great in fitted/semi fitted dresses, show off your shape instead of adding bulk to it!

Street size 16, dress 18

I finally took the plunge – This is my Mori Lee 1612 in Champagne/Ivory.  I purchased it in the size shown (22) and I am a street size 18.

I LOVE this thread – everyone looks absolutely gorgeous and I love all of the dresses πŸ™‚ A PP from WAY back on the 2nd page of this thread had the same dress that I have! It’s by DaVinci, I forget the number. Here are the pics…

And the back…

The light in the shop was awful, so sorry about the picture quality. But I love my dress and the way it fits! I’m a street 16/18 depending on the brand, and this was an 18, I believe. The corset back makes it fit like a glove. πŸ™‚

@Baby_Diva: Wow, I can’t believe how similar they are!! I love how flattering the shape of that dress is, even though its nothing that I “thought” I wanted when dress shopping (I wanted straps!) I’m sure it looks gorgeous on you!

OMG I wanted straps too!! I had searched the DB site for days, and made lists of everything I wanted to try on before I went in there. I had a list of about 10 dresses. This was the last one I tried on! It was discontinued, and $150 off, so I knew it had to be meant to be! I love the corset in the back!

I’m very self conscious about my arms, and will likely try to find some type of bolero or wrap before the wedding…but as Fiance said, the veil will probably hide my arms enough to make me comfortable.  But what about back fat?!?! My dress is getting alterations done as we speak, and I MISS her!!

33 days to go, and it’s crunch time!! πŸ™‚

@chrispygal: Hi lovely, thank you! I also thought it was the most amazing dress. It’s a size 22 Essense of Australia.

I have attached a photo below of my original pick. I had a deposit on the one on the left but I didn’t ‘love’ it…so I went shopping and here it is! πŸ™‚
