Bridey77: This is why I asked  I am a AU 14/16. To my understanding Australian sizing is a bit like US bridal sizing (+2), so my US size would be more around the 12, depending on cut…so on these forums I don’t count I guess. I wear an XS in my favourite local plus brands, which are an AU 14W. I always considered myself plus size because I could wear and indeed prefer wearing clothes from plus ranges. Being tall and carrying my weight fairly evenly I like the longer lengths, proper lining and attention to scale (arm holes/sleeves etc) that is often lacking  from the upper range of regular sizing here. Never mind.

MrsBrew:  Woo hoo…plus sized brides!  I’ll post pics of dresses that were my faves and the one I ended up picking so you can see different shapes.  I’m a bridal and street size 18 for reference.

Here is the first dress I tried on that I liked.

Here is dress #2 that I tried on.  My mom and sister thought it was the one.  But, I didn’t really feel comfortable in it.  It photographed really well, but I was not comfortable in the kind of dropped waist.

Here is the dress I ended up picking.  The first one is the sample size 14 on me.  The second one is the dress in my size (18) and with sleeves added and all alterations made.  I am not comfortable showing my arms at all, so I wanted them covered a little.  Hope this helps!

It is an allure.  I am a size 18 – had to order a size 26 (try not to think too much about it).

I’m a street size 14 or a bit bigger depending on brand. My dress is a David Tuterra in Blush. I loved it for the straps instantly.

Thank you OP for starting this thread. I’m still shopping about for my dress too and I’m always looking for plus sized bridal inspirations.

I’m a street size 18 in dresses (16 in tops, 20 in most pants).  I’m wearing Hayley Paige Guindon, and had to order a 28 (!!).  Here’s a picture of me at fitting #2.  I am not wearing that sash.  Rather, I am going with one that matches the color of the dress and will be tied in the back so it blends in, as I prefer to have the attention to my neck/bust than waist.  The dress was pinned at the top in this photo and starting to droop by the time the picture was taken.  The final product does not show as much cleavage.  I’m wearing a simple cathedral veil with a ribbon edge.  I don’t have a picture from the final fitting, unfortunately.  The wedding is in a few weeks, so I can update my picture then.  Good luck with your search!
