I took the plunge, and signed up for a heavily discounted boudoir session in two weeks. Yay! Since it isn’t too far away, I need to nail down what I want to wear. The issue is I have a hard time buying lingerie because I am an odd shape- basically no chest (I am a 38A- it sucks!), but big hips. Are there any styles you think would flatter this shape? I was thinking maybe an underbust corset would- I could wear a push up bra and shirt to create some cleavage, and then the underbust corset. Any other suggestions?

@chocolatecoveredstrawberry: No specific ideas, except to say that you should wear something you feel sexy and confidant in. You could check out the ‘hips and curves’ website for some options.

I did a boudoir shoot a few months ago and gave the book of my photos to my SO for a Christmas gift. I am a 32A and 42″ hips… very pear shaped! I was told that I had time for 3 outfit changes, so my first outfit was just a black bra and matching boyshorts, with his favorite buttondown shirt (I stole from his closet) on top. I obviously didn’t button the shirt. The second thing I wore was a lacey blue pushup bra and matching bikini style bottom. I don’t know if other pears do this, but I tend to not like to wear thongs because I feel like it accentuates my derriere. The third outfit I wore was a bra that my friend made me (she is in school for fashion design, specifically bras… she wants to work for Victorias Secret) and I don’t know how she did it, but it made my boobs look HUGE. I wore that with a matching string bikini she made.
I know you can’t really do the 3rd thing I said, but I hope the first two give you some ideas! 🙂
Oh, and I also have long hair, so for a few of the pictures, I took off my bra and covered my breasts with my hair, and just kept my undies on. Those pictures were hot!

I’m a pear shape and I feel most comfortable in bikini brief or boy-leg style underwear. Like a PP said, G-strings do not seem to suit my shape and I feel like some cuts of underwear just make my thighs look bigger.

Thank you all for your responses!
@StarryNight2011: I do like Hips and Curves! You are right, comfort is the most important thing, and that was what I was most considering when I decided on lingerie. Heck, with the right attitude you can make a white button down shirt look sexy, but if you are worried you are falling out of your super sexy lingerie… not so much.
@LeonardLady: Your outfit ideas sound amazing. I am definitely doing the button down shirt, and black lingerie sets are classic- I just bought one. How lucky your friend is a fashion designer! Does she sell any of her stuff online? I agree with you on thongs, too. NOT flattering to put a tiny panty on a larger derriere!
@littlebeanpole: Those are my favorite cuts of underwear too. I do occasionally wear thongs, but only for my Fiance. I definitely don’t find them flattering- they just highlight the larger proportions of my bottom.

Oh, and so this is what I am thinking for outfits:
1. sexy short blue wrap dress with red high heels and maybe thigh high stockings
2. classic white button down shirt
3. black bra with black garter skirt and stockings
4. sexy black lace robe with pink push up bra and panties

@chocolatecoveredstrawberry: Check out the curvy section on this site: http://www.secretsinlace.com. They carry beautiful pieces that have a vintage feel.
