My dress was so form fitting and sturdy I didn’t need any bra.  Have you tried the dress bra less it might save you some money on an undergarmet that is just going to be uncomfortable.

I wear the convertible bra from Fashion Bug as a strapless almost every day, it’s that comfortable! I have a problem with straps sliding down no matter what, so strapless is my usual option and this one is very comfortable, full coverage and reasonably priced.

@aicila: ditto on Panache and Fantasie. They hold up better than any other brand I’ve tried.

@CindyRelly: BUMMER!!! I actually didnt buy the bra6 because when i went to website to check out bra, the negative reviews. overrode positive. i have a fantasie bra, not only does it not fit, but it’s not very supportive(just bought some bra extenders to try on with it). I just ordered a goddess, i’ll let you know how that works out.

I am a size 38H and I swear by Panache, Fantasie, and Elomi.  Before I realized what was out there, I use to wear Lane Bryant bras and dealt with side wires digging into my skin, the tent like front wires, etc.  They were just not made for my build.  And then I wandered into a Nordstrom and found out that there were pretty, sexy and COMFORTABLE bras in my size.  Nordstrom is a great place to figure out your general size in the brands, and I end up ordering often from herroom.com, biggerbras.com, or amazon.com for fancier ones.  But be prepared to buy and return to find a perfect fit…even in brands I go between a 38GG to 38H.

I wear the Elomi convertible bra regularly as both a strapless and a regular bra. It is convertible as both a regular bra and strapless, the wire stays flush to my chest, and has a smooth finish even under tshirts.  I played with sizes and ended up going down 1/4 of a size to a 38GG http://www.herroom.com/elomi-1230-molded-underwire-foam-molded-strapless-bra.shtml#2

For my wedding I ended up with an Elomi corset (I’m tall at 6’1).  It was absolutely gorgeous and so supportive.  It does have heavy boning to give good lift, and at first became a struggle with the boning in my dress. http://www.biggerbras.com/elomi-bras/elomi-serena-bridal-basque-8202.shtml

Hope that helps!  Good luck!!!!

@tashajaysen:

If your bra drops down when you wear it without straps then you need to go down to a 38 or 36 band. For every band size you go down, you go up a cup size. You may well be a 38E or a 36F. The band on your bra should support 90% of the weight of your breasts even on a normal bra.

@SpecialSundae: this is a bit embarrassing, but i bought one in a 38E and OMG!!! I managed to get it on, but the “long line” part that covers your back and tummy kind of rolled up over my stomach and cut off my circulation. LMAO!! Soo…. has anyone tried just wrapping themselves with an ace bandage like a mummy? lol. i think that might work? HAHAHAHAHA
