I am curious to see if there are any fellow plus size brides out there who are around sizes 24-28 that would be willing to share pictures of their dresses with me. As you know, it can be quite difficult to try on different types of dresses when many of the samples are just too small to give you a good idea of what the dress will look like on your body. I would very much appreciate any input that anyone who has been through the experience of being a plus size bride can share with me. Thanks in advance ladies.

Hi, Beckaboo….. I can’t believe someone missed this post! I’m a plus sized bride and will most definitely be honored to share my dress with you! I had the exact same problem with trying to find a fabulously gorgeous plus-size dress! For some reason, designers seem to think that just because we are plus sized we want ugly dresses!
Here are two dresses from Davids Bridal, which happened to be the only bridal store that had dresses that I could actually try on.
The darker picture is of my actual dress, MINUS a corset. It was only $200 from DavidsBridal.com; and the brighter pic is one I tried on in Davids Bridal. Both dresses are similar and I think both would flatter any figure!
Good Luck on your search!

My mom actually made my dress/outfit for me. It was beautiful- I have condsidered passing it on as many larger brides aren’t as fortunate as I was to have her. The dress was actually a very ornate over piece that can be worn with a petitcoat/slip/skirt or (don’t laugh)…pants. Check out my pictures. This can easily be adapted with a a simple undergarmet. You can see what these types of pieces will look like on larger wormen…

Here is my dress, I of course had to try it on three sizes too small as well. Surprisingly dress shopping wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Every saleslady was nice and made me feel good. The best part is that there were very few dresses that looked horrible! I knew this was the dress when my fluffy-big-white wedding dress hating maid-of-honor went “Wow”
