I fit in close anywhere to a 14-18 depending on the style. which I guess close aren’t true to size. Currently as I purchased my wedding dress and as it sit’s right now, it’s a size 16. So I know I’m a pretty decent size girl.
My faince is really into Chevy, so I got a cusome made chevy garter from
I picked my style, colors, had my name put into it, once said and done it came to $35.50 with shipping and that was just for one.
My size is 22″ which is such a huge number to me. Some regular ones at some places I’ve been able to try on, but they aren’t really the comfy.
I need to find a toss garter and don’t want to spend an arm and a leg for it, but I also wonder that if I buy a plus size one, what if the person who puts it back on is way smaller then me. I’d be so embarressed.
So I’m not sure what to do.
thanks for all the help!

Skip the garter all together. I’m plus size, and wouldn’t want my legs to be criticized on my wedding day. You don’t HAVE to have a garter toss, I know lots of brides (of all shapes) that have skipped it. Some traditions are dying.
You can incorporate chevy somewhere else in your wedding.

My Mother-In-Law made my garter, and I bought a cheap, regular sized one for the toss. I put the toss garter on about ten mins before the toss and only up to my knee.

I have been to one wedding where the garter catcher puts the garter on the bouquet catcher… is that what you are talking about? If so, again I have only see that once, in all the tons of other weddings I’ve ever been to that has never been done, the garter is caught, everyone laughs, and then everyone moves on with the night. There’s no reason anyone has to put on a toss garter.
Personally, we didn’t do either the bouquet toss or garter. We had no interest in gathering people together to do this stuff.

Your groom could also just take the toss garter out of his pocket, or have someone hand it to him right before the toss. That’s what we did, since I didn’t want Darling Husband going up my skirt in front of everybody and their grandma.

I lost this battle (plus sized bride here) and my groom is insisting. I read up on this — in south Louisiana we don’t have the garter put on the catchee of the bouquet — so I am going to get a regular one and put it at knee height he can toss it (wouldn’t agree to attach it to a football or anything different) … I so don’t need my groom under my dress. anti this tradition MUCH but he’s insisting.

@oxstardust421xo: If your only looking for a toss garter, try ebay.
I got a garter and toss garter for $10
Also, the garter I got is a one size fits all, its not tight and it doesnt pinch me and create leg fat lol. It might be good for you

I made my own for under $10. I ordered stretch lace from Etsy, sewed a seam in the back, sewed some flowers on, and there you go! Here it is when it was halfway done:

I’m a plus-size gal, and I made my garter as well. It cost me less than $10 in materials and it was quite easy to make. It’s not overly intricate, but it’s my ‘something blue’ and personalized with my new last initial.
As for the garter being used for the toss garter, I would just have your groom keep another one in your pocket and toss that. If you do that, you also get to keep your garter as a keepsake.
Here’s a rather large picture of my garter.
