You have to buy that dress, you will look amazing!!!  And your engagement photos are adorable. I am a 20/22 and I bought a ballgown. I just love it, I feel amazing and look pretty darn hot too. You only get to be a bride once and I can tell you will rock that dress

I think the Alyssa is likely a much better choice. It has a sweetheart neckline, which is very flattering on larger busts. It’s got diagonal ruching which hides a myriad of flaws. And it’s got a drop waist which will show off your height and great, curvy shape. It’s a beautiful dress!

I had a hard time with dresses. I understand about not being able to try dresses on. It is difficult. But I believe that you will look beautiful and you should go with the Allyssa dress.

I’m curious if you’ve picked your dress yet?  I’d love to know what you decided on.  🙂

The Maggie dress you have chosen is BEAUTIFUL! I think its going to look amazing on you! I too am a plus size bride (16/18) and Maggie was definitely the designer for me! Please give us an update with you and your dress!

I vote for the Alyssa! I think it would be very flattering on you. The only thing to keep in mind is whether that champagne color would be the right one for you. Based on your lovely pic, I think you have a nice porcelain complexion that might work better with more of a white/ivory, not champagne, color. I think you should ask Cupcake Meg who posted right before me — I’m a New Bee, but I’ve seen her posts on the boards and she’s got great taste and expertise when it comes to dresses and accesories! Maybe send her a private message and get her input on the color question. : )

i fell in LOVE with the brielle dress when i first started looking online. i called all my local bridal stores and no one had it until i called a store and hour and a half away. My mom and i went and i tried it on and well….. It is A LOT of dress. it has everything pick-ups, crystals, and it weighed a ton. I felt nice it in but i felt like the dress was wearing me. and it is a very very fancy dress. Will a dress with all of that going on match your personal style and the vibe you want for your ceremony/reception? Now i’m a bigger girl too and i still felt like that dress ate me up. i am not trying to talk you out of it at all. i just want to let you know what my experience was with it. it is an expensive dress and like you said to spend that money and not wear it…..well i dont know many people who could do that. you do always have the option of buying it and if it doesnt work out trying to sell it online somewhere. i do suggest looking at color samples too before you order. it comes in several different colors! i hope this help. and good luck. if you want i can email the pick of me in it so you can see what i’m talking about. Let me know.

I think you can pull it off. It’s all about your mentality. Wink

Corset back is great for sure… and a drop waist line helps when you are bigger. I wear a street size 16-18 and I wear a Maggie Size 20.    Not sure where you are from but Miss Pamela’s in Rochester Indiana is great for plus size women
