Here is a few of mine.  I had a friend take them, she did a great job…I also added a picture of my ring! Surprised

1). Posture! Stand up straight…slouching makes anyone’s tummy look larger than life (and don’t wear a shirt that gathers like I did….boo!).

2). If you sit in photos NEVER rest your full weight on your thighs. While it will be uncomfortable you should gently rest them on the seat making them not squish. It will prevent that wide thigh look.

Here are a few of ours, my photographer made my legs look longer than normal which I love.

All of you ladies look amazing. Don’t doubt yourselves.

When anyone looks at your photos, they are going to see you and your happiness, not your size and imperfections. I think I look terrible in one particular photo of mine and I’ve had friends tell me it’s the best photo of me they’ve ever seen! So.. what do I know?

My tips would be to (1) explain to your photographer that you’re aware of your imperfections and don’t want to focus on them, (2) put your hand on your natural waist instead of your hips if possible, (3) turn your body slightly away but NOT your face, (4) practice good posture and (5) get photos of yourself in your outfit in advance! That way there will be no surprises, and (6) if you do sit down, pull your knees up in front of your stomach OR tuck your elbows in on your lap. Examples of both below.

For disclosure sake, I wore a 14 on top, 16 on bottom for these pics. However, I used to be a 24 and have always been larger, so I fully understand the struggles with wanting a flattering picture.

All you ladies look gorgeous!

OP: I hate to admit this but the stress of doing engagement photots like these beautiful ones above was more than I was willing to deal with so we just went and got “head shots”. And they turned out OK. I was more worried about the day of photos but mine ended up amazing. I dont know how my photographer did it but I swear all my wedding shots make me look thinner. I didnt even discuss anything with her about it. But she really did a great job.

Just be yourself and relax. Anyone who looks tense in a picture usually looks “thicker”
