Are there such a thing? Because I bought one at a bridal shop…and it cuts into my thighs in the most unattractive manner. And I want to feel beautiful on my wedding day… One size does not fit all.
So. IF they exist…Garters that are pretty and can fit my thunderthighs?

A preliminary Google search brought me here:
But any good local seamstress should be able to custom-make you one. All it would take is proper length of elastic, lace of your choice and ornaments of your choice. 🙂

I found some really gorgeous ones on etsy! And they just take your thigh measurement! 🙂

I had a plus-size garter, I bought it on Etsy 🙂

My MIL made mine with material from my Grandmother and Mother’s dresses.
I’m sure there are some on etsy!

@littlemisst08: That is absolutely beautiful, and so meaningful too!
I made my own using stretchy lace ribbbon and non-stretchy ribbon from Joann’s, and just stretched out the stretchy one and sewed them together, it turned out really nice. I also didn’t want it cutting into my leg, so mine is a bit big on me… I’m thinking I may need to use that fashion tape stuff that holds things in place. I’d rather use that than have it cut into my leg!

Etsy- I ordered two, a toss and one to keep. Sugarplumgarters and YouNique Garters.

I made mine.
Bought lace with some elastic in it and sewed on some paper flowers. (I normally don’t sew and it wasn’t difficult) I also added some pearls. It’s not the best because the pearls aren’t even but it works.

I had a friend of mine custom make mine. Her blog and contact info is here.

My FMIL made one for her daughter by buying two garters, cutting them, and sewing them together with a sewing machine. You can’t tell. I like the Etsy suggestions, too.

A garter is just some ribbon and/or lace with elastic. About a 10 minute project for any sewer. You can make one to fit yourself pretty easilly, or have someone with a sewing machine do it for you. I’d give you mine but i’ve just realized, the guy who caught it at the reception never gave it back!

@littlemisst08: That is GORGEOUS!
@Future.McGuffee: I purchased one that matched my bridal lingerie, and I ordered it from figleaves.com in the UK. The brand is Fantasie, and the company makes beautiful lingerie that also comes in plus sizes.

If you aren’t so crafty, you can always order plus size custom garter on etsy – there’s plenty of them on the site. I am etsy seller too, so I can assure – they almost 99% of time are very kind and will make something YOU want.
