@Mrs.Jansen:  I was convinced AF was coming when I got my BFP. You never can tell. I kept telling Darling Husband it wasn’t fair that PMS and pregnancy symptoms are so similiar.

Good luck to you!

My PMS usually consists of crankiness, low back pain, and some cramping.  My TWW I had ZERO pregnancy symptoms- my boobs didn’t hurt, I wasn’t extraordinarily fatigued, I wasn’t nauseated, no headaches, nada zip zilch.  I was so, so certain my period was coming that I bought a bottle of wine & a box of tampons.  I tested at 10DPO and got BFN.  By the time I went back to work on Monday, my period was officially late… so I got brave- DANGEROUS even!  I wore white underwear Surprised…  Lo and behold, I never got my period and got a BFP about 14 DPO.

@Mrs.Jansen:  Thanks, Darling Husband and I are thrilled. We are still in shock. I guess it will feel more real after our first doctors visit.

I’m going to keep my fingers crossed for you!

@Mrs.Jansen:  How many DPO are you?  I obviously haven’t been adequately stalking the POAS threads…

I’m right there with you! Having pms symptons, but my cramping was different than menstrual cramps, but I have to wait to know. This sucks. I’m hoping there’s a baby on board, and the same for you!

@Mrs.Jansen:  i hear you on impatience – we’re only a couple of weeks away from our 1 year anniversary since we ditched BC, and STILL waiting. hope you don’t have to wait as long.

In my experience, you notice EVERY single thing once you start TTC – cramps, nausea, back aches, moodiness… that you never noticed or attributed to anything before. Then you have months where you don’t have any symptoms, and decide THAT is a symptom itself…. it’s a vicious cycle. In the end, both PMS and pregnancy symptoms are caused by the same hormones, so at that early stage, and without knowing how your body will react to pregnancy, it’s very unlikely that us first timers will know what our own early pregnancy symptoms will be like, if any. you only have to read the “when I knew I was pregnant” type boards to see that it is very different for everyone.

In short – my method for dealing with the TWW is becoming well known around the boards as ‘reverse symptom spotting’. Every cramp I feel – I remind myself of my PMS cramps. A headache – maybe I didn’t drink enough water. Sore boobs – maybe that’s from the gym. Often, as soon as you attribute it to something else, then the symptom disappears.

Good luck, and hope you find some peace in your TWW 🙂

I hear you! I am having the same problem! But I swear my AF is coming. I have been queazy for a while and my breasts are so sore. But I have been getting cramps which worry me, and they feel the same as any period. I’m so excited though!

FWIW, I never used to get PMS symptoms and I also didn’t have any pregnancy symptoms before I got my positive. I guess my boobs are slightly fuller than usual but I feel totally normal, if a little bloated.
