@a_day_at_the_fair:  Are her dresses only sold at Kleinfeld? That would be the only way I could justify how frequently she’s there. I did appreciate how in one episode she met the price of a girl looking to get a red gown. That was about it. I AM in love with a newer one with rosettes on the back side however but most that are featured on the show are super OTT.

There was one episode with the bride who wanted to show off her butt crack…one of the most memorable SYTTD moments ever in my mind. I’m pretty sure she ended up buying two or three (totally inappropriate) Pnina dresses to showcase her assets!

I went to Klienfeld’s just for kicks, it was the very worst dress shopping experience I had.  First, we had to wait for thirty minutes after the appointment was supposed to start for them to even see us.  Then they had me try on only three dresses.  They refused to show me a fourth because they were closing (let’s forget that their consultant was late to see me).  Then Randy, or whatever his name is, came around and told me that the dress I was wearing at the moment was “divine” and asked me if I was saying “yes to the dress.” I gave him an emphatic “no!”  Needless to say I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.  I got my dress at Ver Wang, same money, but far better quality dress and far better service.  Maybe Klienfeld’s was nice years ago, but it’s total crap now.

ugh! I know this is an old thread, but I just have to vent! I was watching SYTTD this morning and a bride came in wanting a ball gown with some blin. Her budget was $3000. Oh and she liked Pnina dresses. The consultant brought her ONE dress to try on. The consultant said, “I hope you like this one, because it’s we only have one dress that’s in your budget.” I think there was a timeline factor, but seriously, how can a bridal store only have one dress in that price range!

They ended up talking to Pnina (of course) and she brought out a gown that had been cancelled. She asked the bride what her budget was and the bride said about 2 or 3 (thousand). And Pnina says, how about 3? I felt like that bride was somewhat pushed into the decision because of the lack of dresses and saying yes to Pnina.

mildlybookish:  that doesn’t surprise me. Pnina always comes across as really pushy and I hate how much the store pushes her dresses. Someone tries on her dresses in almost every single episode. And most of them aren’t even nice.

Kleinfeld’s does appear to be pretty expensive though. It seems like their dresses pretty much start from $2000 and up unless it’s a sample sale. From what I’ve seen, and I’ve watched quite a few episodes of the show, most of their nice dresses are between $3000-$6000. Once you past that, you start heading into tacky town, at least in terms of what I find appealing. I actually find it kind of amazing that the more expensive ($10,000+) dresses are usually quite unattractive.

I tried Pnina dresses on while she was there during her trunk show and overheard some pretty f*cked up shit. Apparenlty she only comes out to see brides in her dress if they meet her….aesthetic standards. There was one women who LOVED her dresses and was SO excited but apparently she didnt make the cut so Pnina stayed in the back. But the second a gorgoues asian women tried on one of the gowns she came out again and said hi, right in fron of the other women who had been waiting for her.

a_day_at_the_fair:  I never found her to be all that pushy, but I see what you’re saying. I’m just shocked at how popular her stuff is since to me they look quite cheap. Also, if you do enjoy that look, there are a LOT of cheaper designers that do a similar style.

HisBride515:  I totally diasagree, I went to kleinfelds and declined to be on the show (not my thing) and I had a very sizeable fitting room and used one of the main mirrors/stands that they use on the show in the main room. My girls got to sit on an adorable couch the entire time and my consultant was beyond helpful and not pushy. I loved my experience there, i saved it for last out of all my stops because I didn’t want to be swayed by the hype, but it ended up being the place that had the dress I loved the most so it worked out well!

oh and pnina wasn’t there when i was there, I bet the specificlay plan on shooting days she is there or they bring her in on days theybare shooting a bride who indicates they want one of her dresses. To be on the show you fill out this super long profile online and submit a headshot it’s crazy. i actually know two girls who were on it and the one’s episode aired recently… Months before her wedding!! I would never want everyone to see my dress before hand!

mildlybookish:  I posted a board about this last week!! I have a Pnina but I still hate how they treat people on the show saying that they have a low budget and dont have anything in their price point. When they can go somewhere else and get a lot for their money!

a_day_at_the_fair:  I saw that episode too and that’s what made me write my post! It annoyed me to no end! And someone commented on my board about how they don’t even carry the big names that celebrities wear, like Vera or Oscar, stuff like that. Crazy! I love my pnina and I loved the service I got there, but the show still aggravates me..
