I prefer the oscar, I’m not a fan of the Pnina one. It looks too poofy.

I prefer the Pnina (sans the GIANT hoop skirt)

I’m not a fan of the ruffly skirt on the Oscar

I strongly dislike the type of skirt on the Oscar. I have to say Pnina!

@Baimee:  I have to agree.  Someone here once likened the de la Renta to a squid, and now that’s all I see with that dress.  I think the Pnina is really pretty, I love seeing it on SYTTD.  But I think you have to have a pretty tiny frame in order to be able to carry off a skirt that large.

Pnina! I’m a ball gown fan as well! =)

I’m not fond of how the ruffles lay on the Oscar either, I’ve seen similar dresses that I like much better.

The Pnina is okay, not my favorite but I guess it’s a pretty dress. That silhouette always looks a bit odd to me, when there’s a blingy bathing suit with a huge skirt exploding out of the bottom of it.

I’m totally biased to the silouette of the Pnina as it’s a drop waist ballgown like the one I’d worn (though much more elaborate). I’m only 5’3″ though of a wider frame and it was a great way to pull off the ballgown look without being swallowed alive by the skirt. So I’d highly recommend it to anyone who’s interested in a ballgown. The Oscar dress just kinda looks like it went through a paper shredder (no offense to any ladies with the ruffled look!). I’ve seen better around here.

I’m usually not a huge Pnina fan, but I do like the classic style ballgowns she makes, such as the one you posted.  It sort of reminds me of one of my favorites by Kenneth Pool.

I like Oscar too, but they give totally different feelings.  What type of wedding are you having? Based on the things you have pinned, it looks like the Pnina might fit better with your “theme.” Both are beautiful though, and I don’t think you can go wrong!

ETA: Unrelated, but how is your fiance doing?
