I’m an English teacher, too, and I love that you’re writing a poem for your ceremony! What you have so far is beautiful. I see the simplicity of the ending being part of the message of the poem, and I understand why you’re doing it that way, but I can’t help but want more than this from the poem. I want the quirky details that make your Fiance himself, and what make you guys yourselves as a couple. If you don’t think adding more detail would take away from the simplicity of the message (which is lovely), I’d add more.

As someone that writes poetry, and loves free form, I really loves this.

It’s very personal and a nice touch for your special day, as well as a nod to your profession.

I personally love when couples personalize their ceremony, through personalized vows, poems, songs, etc.

I think it is a great poem. Simplistic, but meaningful! Are you going to be doing the reading yourself, or will someone else?
