You do realize how much of your personal information you’re handing over every time you play the game, right?

I’ve been playing it for a week! I love it and I don’t care what anyone thinks!

I just started playing it and I love it. I’m not on it like all the time but I do pop in during my lunch break. Why not? I’m not harming anyone.

I’m so glad I don’t have Facebook. Or Pokemon go for that matter….

The level of obsession described in this post scares me.

Ha! Yeah, I don’t get the snobbery among those who don’t play and I certainly don’t understand being pissed off about it! Personally, I never got into Pokemon when it first came out and I’m not big on video games in general, so the Pokemon Go craze has not hit me. But I think it’s cute and an amazing phenomenon to witness, especially the way it’s getting people out of their houses and exercising. It’s fun to see kids and adults from all walks of life wandering around clearly in search of Pokemon. It was hilarious hearing my co-worker explain to my (older) boss that you can only see the Pokemon on your phone, they’re not actually out there. I’m picturing him peeking under bushes in search of these Pokemon he keeps hearing about!  I’ll admit I’ve captured a few Pokemon using my husband’s phone and am all too happy to accompany him on his Pokemon hunts since it means I get to go for a walk with him. Albeit one with frequent stops. The last time we were out I had plenty of time while he was trying to catch some uncooperative flying creature (sorry, the names are just gibberish to me) to take some lovely pictures of the sunset:

Horseradish :  That issue was never as bad as reports initially made it sound, and it seems they’ve now fixed the problem:

I’ve entered online contests that ask for more personal information than anyone’s likely to get by viewing my Google account.

There are always detractors but who really cares if you love it? Live and let live. Generally, people mature enough emotionally don’t have the need to flaunt their judgments of others online.

My aunt belittled it as “oh what craziness adults have gotten into”, I told her I walked 15k thanks to the game so she can laugh all she wants, but I’m still getting exercise. It motivates me better than SportsTracker (yawn!) and ZombiesRun (Doesn’t make me motivated to go “just one more block” or “around that bend and back”).

I like the casual nerd hellos when players notice each other, and the helpful play tips total strangers will give when they notice you playing too. I much prefer it to the usual unsolicited interactions I get from strange men on the street, haha.

FYI: If you use Pokemon Go via your Google account and are worried about the data they have access to, you can go to your Google account security settings and revoke full access. The game should work fine after doing this.

I was a pokemon fan as a child and my inner 10 year old is SO happy! It’s not technically out in canada, but I have US itunes account so DL was easy enough.

This thing is basically a GD fitness app!

“Want to go for a walk?”

“Nah, I’m ok”

“Want to go catch pokemon?”

“OMG YES LET ME GET MY SHOES”

(this is me btw) haha

I usually don’t do anything on my lunch breaks. Now I hit up 2 pokestops and wander around getting my steps in.

I’m not a hardcore battle-er, but I might get into it a bit later. i’m L6 right now. I just like to catch them haha.

The judgement of people is so nonsensical to me. Everyone has interests, doesn’t mean you have to like it, just let it be. People will judge you for being on a wedding forum, for playing pokemon go, for liking cats instead of dogs, for wearing crocs, for shopping at goodwill… whatever. I don’t need the negativity. Judge away.
