I greatly prefer the look of the shared prong ring, and I would be much more willing to “get used” to the feel rather than a look I wasn’t crazy about. That’s just me though.

@naturedoc1112: I personally don’t like channel set rings but LOVE shared prong eternity rings! I have a CZ shared prong eternity ring I’m planning to use as a stand in on our honeymoon. I don’t think it’s uncomfortable at all.

I’ve always wondered about the shared prong rings being uncomfortable. That said I have a channel set half eternity e-ring and band, hah.

I like the look of the shared prong though, there’s no denying it’s beautiful.

i would get the one that looks better with your ring.  i have a semi-bezel set eternity band and it’s very comfortable.  i can’t see how channel set would be more comfortable vs shared prong.

@mypinkshoes:  With channel set rings you don’t feel anything. The diamonds are nearly flush with the band. It feels like a solid band when you wear it while the shared prong has the individual prongs that would poke.

I would go with the channel, but I’m biased because that is what the matching band to my e-ring is. Maybe do square stones on the channel so there isn’t as big of gaps?

What a beautiful engagement ring! Absolutely, a channel-set eternity band is more comfortable but I’m sure you would get used to the shared-prong band. It’s more beautiful in my opinion too;) I have a shared-prong eternity ring that I will wear when I’m married, but I do wear it around at home sometimes 😉 I completely get used to it.

Here it my set for fun;)
