Where can you find out about specific stamps coming out? Is there a website? I want to see what this polar bear stamp looks like and check out the other options! It sounds cute…

Here we go: http://www.usps.com/communications/newsroom/2009/pr09_022.htm

Personally, I don’t love the polar bear. I do think the koi stamp is really pretty though!

I looove the king and queen of hearts one, I think I’ll use that for my invites!

Edit: nvm…looks like the Koi are stamped cards and not stamps??? Hmm.

I have not seen any others. I’m actually in a similar situation as I’m sending out my save the date postcards right after the price increase…are polar bears our only option?!?

I’m disappointed by the new stamps as well. Right now they have cute little fruit stamps, which I like much more than the polar bears! Oh well…

I was willing to pay for the new cake ones ahead of time- but the post office said they didn’t know when they would be out. Mine invites are suppoed to be out the last week of April. That also meant that I couldnt get the new king and queen stamps for the rsvp cards. I am stuck with the ugly liberty bell since many RSVPs will likely come back after the increase. Of course the Fiance has no idea why i care so much about the stamps.

ughhh….grizzly bears would be great for our location (Yosemite) but polar bears don’t fit at all!

if it matters a lot you could always make custom postage…. Zazzle.com will do it and i like everything i have ordered from them. i am thinking i might do custom stamps inside for rsvp’s and bells for the outside since i keep buyin them using one and misplacing them so i have a ton!

That’s true. Maybe I’ll just try to get my save the dates out before the rate increase, lol.

LOL I just used those polar bear stamps for my RSVP postcards.  Figured in the grand scheme of things, the postage is really not that important.  But ya I agree, sort of funny/random for wedding postage.

I agree with Noelle-a-belle…I decided that it was not worth paying all that extra postage just to have a “wedding themed” stamp.  The rest of the invitation suite spoke for itself, and honestly, I don’t think any of my guest even paid attention to the kind of stamp it was!

I was about to order custom stamps for my postcard save the dates, but then I realized that for 120 stamps $.28, I was paying $50 over the stamp face value!  I refuse to put the polar bear stamps on my beautiful save the dates.  I considered using love or wedding themed $.44 stamps, but that was a $20 increase over the postage I needed.  I ended up combining 2 $.10 and 2 $.4 stamps, which allowed me to pay no more than neccessary and still have pretty stamps.
