I had sooo many bruises though from the pole hahaha I must have worked it hard 🙂 We got to get changed into fun costumes and wear big platform boots etc. It was great! HAVE FUN!

Great idea, tons of fun, fab workout. A few tips:

Sounds obvious, but if you’re using your own outfits and not the studio’s, change into them at the studio. You only want to look like that while actually at the pole, not on the subway.

Make sure the sexy stuff you do wear is relatively comfortable, and that any skirts are paired with boy shorts — if you go inverted, you don’t want any “wardrobe malfunctions.”

If you’re going out somewhere following the party, bring deoderant, a hair brush, makeup, and body lotion for afterwards. It can get sweaty and hot, plus you’ll be moving around a lot. Your legs/ankles/hands could feel a little sore or chafed, and lotion really helps.

No. Sticky. Lipgloss. Why? Loose hair will constantly get stuck on/in your mouth.

And finally, a warning: you might get hooked on pole dancing! Have fun!

I had a friend of mine organize this for another friend’s bachelorette. They had an AMAZING time. I say, if your friend is the type who would love it, then go ahead.

Have you talked to your friend about doing this at her bachelorette party?  I only ask because some people get a little uncomfortable in situations like that, especially when the focus is on them, and you may never guess it until it happens!  My experience has been to ask the bride if she feels comfortable with whatever you have in mind, and then go from there.

That being said, I think it sounds like a kick in the pants! 🙂  And I would LOVE to do this for some of my friends when they get married!

I haven’t gone to a place but I have a pole in my apartment and I love love love it! It is a maaajor core strength builder, but be careful you WILL hurt after your first few times. Other than that it’s a TONE of fun and you can find a ton of moves on youtube.

You’ll have a LOT of fun! I’ve done that in Cincinnati and it was great! It was funny, fun and somehow classy…the ladies we worked with were just awesome too! Just be careful! If you jump at the pole instead of doing it the right way, you could end up with some nasty bruises on your shins!!

I did this for my Best Friend (I was her MOH) I was a little nervous at first, some of the ladies were a little shy/conservative. In the end, we all had a great time. We all had bruises the next day though. haha!

That is so awesome! And a great workout too! If I had room in my house I would so put up a pole. Plus there are no studios around here so I stick to Belly Dancing.
