pole like… pole dancing?  I’ve never done it but it seems really fun and like an awesome workout

I took a few classes. While I loved the amazing arm workout I just felt too awkward and uncomfortable so I quit. Plus it was brutal on my knees and legs and I was tired of having ugly bruises all the time.

As I told my mother, rest assured it is not a talent I can fall back on in hard times.

I did one. It was an awesome workout. I was sore in places I never knew I had afterwards…inner thing, abs, etc.

I did one for a bachelorette party once- about 20 of us went and it was a LOT of fun, but I don’t remember the last time I was that sore. We waddled out of the place, and we all had deep tissue bruises for weeks and stairs- forget it!  It was two days before the wedding and the bride had to hide the bruises on the insides of her arms with makeup.

I’d be game to do it again though!

I did it a while back and loved it – it is a great workout! But I ultimately couldn’t keep going any further with it because I have bad shoulders and you need a bit of upper body strength to do it!

I took 16 weeks of pole dancing and had to give it up because I couldn’t reach the third level, it was just too hard!  I would’ve had to gain a TON of upper body strength to keep going, and it hurt my legs and the tops of my feet a lot too.  It gave me a fair amount of respect for the ladies who do this for a living.  Its hard work!

I’ve done a few classes bought at a discount through Groupon and such and they were a lot of fun and a really good workout.  My arms especially were really sore.

My friend teaches it and I had one in my living room for a few months haha.  It’s a great workout.  The ladies who teach are trying to break the derogative stereotype of pole = stripper, when it is actually vertical gymnastics (contrasting the horizontal uneven bars). They’re trying to redirect that whole outlook to channel, not only fitness, but sexiness in a positive and empowering way.

I say go for it!!
