I honestly can’t wait until this election is over.

I have noticed the same with my FB friends.  There is one portion of my FB friends who are staunchly one sided, and they are the ones constantly posting things about how the opposing side is wrong, terrible, selfish, morons if they vote the other way.  The portion of my FB friends who I know either are or very likely to be members of the opposing parties seem to be the ones that stay quiet and don’t play into this.  I find it disappointing…I stay away from posting how I feel about things because many of my FB friends who oppose my views will rake me across the coals.  I find the quote “your beliefs don’t make you better, your behavior does” so interesting during this election season, being that in my own experience those who believe one set of things seem to be the most hateful and likely to jump to sweeping conclusions about everyone who opposes them and their behavior is just…immature, condescending, and superior.  I would even venture to guess that I could take a guess at who you are voting for versus the person who slammed you.  But these are just my personal views and experiences with my own set of FB friends.

I get that all the time, esp on my twitter feed.  I get called all kinds of names, death threats, and just the most vile of things.  I had to unfriend two second cousins for calling me all sorts of names all over politics.  I love politics, I take is seriously but not personally.  I have never called anyone a name over it and I don’t get calling names and being a vile person over it.

@MrsDPal811:  Exactly. That’s why I just choose to stay out of it. I don’t post or respond to anything political on my Facebook or Twitter. I know who I’m voting for and that’s all that matters.

I agree. The elections really bring out the worst in some people and it makes me think less of them.

So true….and people seem to think that if they can win a debate with you that you will vote their way, but in the end you are the only one in that little box and you will vote for who you want regardless.

It’s not just politics. I watch a soap called bold and Beautiful and you should go to message boards and see how those people behave over their favorite characters.

There are these two girls on my FB that update their status every minute during the election, and it’s just hateful things about Romney.

Okay, I GET IT YOU HATE HIM.

Yet, you want a president that spreads love and equality…but you have no problems openly hating and detesting someone you don’t even personally know?

It fucking annoys me.

ETA: This goes for anyone that “hates” whatever presidential candidate to me. Unless you personally know them, I think it’s ridiculous that you “hate” them. Disagree, okay, but hate? Get a life.

The hateful things said about Obama–hateful and racist things–really open my eyes up about this country.
