I’m making a cheap e-ring to wear to when I go on vacations (I tend to lose things very easily while traveling). I’m setting a 2 ct CZ in a simple 4 prong solitaire, but I can’t make up my mind between white, rose, and yellow gold! My real diamond is set in a platinum cushion halo, so I was thinking maybe I should go for rose or yellow. What do you think?? My skin tone is neutral beige so I can wear all metals. I feel like white is more modern and classic while yellow is traditional. Rose gold is more trendy, so maybe it’ll be dated in a decade? Also, how does rose gold age over time? Does it tarnish/fade more easily?
Here’s the setting: https://www.etsy.com/listing/248727034/morganite-solitaire-ring-8mm-14k-rose?ref=shop_home_active_2

Since you already have platinum, I’d be tempted to branch out and do something fun like rose gold. I wish i had the skin tone to wear rose gold! I don’t think you have to worry about any fading or degradation of color as long as it is solid gold and not just gold plated.

I’ve loved rose gold forever! I don’t really follow the trends, so I don’t care if others are wearing it at a particular time or not. The ring I have now is platinum, but I would like to have it reset someday in either all rose gold, or a platinum/rose gold mixed metal ring.
(all that was to say, I would pick the rose gold. I think it’s so warm and feminine.)

I love rose gold, I am not sure how it keeps, but I would go rose gold. I just think it is so beautiful.

Rose or yellow! I used to be a strict white gold fan now find myself craving the warm contrast of the rose and yellow gold with clear/white stones! I’m so happy my SO picked rosegold for mine! It’s so lovely, feminine, and (in my opinion) timeless:)
make sure to post pics when done!!

I have rose gold and I love it! I haven’t noticed any more wear than white/yellow gold pieces and I’m terribly clumsy with my ring.

Thank you everyone for your input! I have told the jewler to go with rose gold instead. It’ll be nice to be able to switch up colors according to outfit etc. I’ll post a pic when it’s done 🙂

Congrats! I think you’re going to love it. One of my regular rings is rose gold, and I really love the subtle glow it gives.
