I think we’ll start trying when I’m 30 or 31, so I’m interested in this too.

I’m intrigued by the poll results – I know it’s a small sample, but it’s interesting that it seems to either happen pretty fast, or take a year or longer.

I’m 33, soon to be 34. I’ve gone off the pill and have started charting after reading “Taking Charge of Your Fertility.” Hopefully when we’re ready to try for reals in a couple of months, we’ll get it right the first time ๐Ÿ™‚

I highly recommend charting your cycles now if you want to be sure that everything is normal. Charting will let you see if and when you’re ovulating, and might help identify any underlying issues you didn’t know you had.

I am 33 now and pregnant with my first.  I got pregnant when I was 32 during my second cycle off of birth control!  I didn’t chart or temp, I used an app that guessed my most fertile times but we really didn’t want to start with any pressure on ourselves so we just took it as it came.

I am 32 and got pregnant on first try (31) and 3rd try.  Both ended in MC though.  Don’t worry, ALL of my friends are my age and had no problem, first try and boom, preg.

Lauren267:  I was 33 when I got pregnant.  (I am 34 and currently pregnant)– we were not even officially trying.  We were in the works to start trying– we were not using any BC and he was pulling out.  And that’s how I got pregnant.

I was diagnosed with PCOS last Fall, and we knew there was a possibilty we might need help.

So I got pregnant quite easily- even though the odds were against me.

Lauren267:  It’s how I got pregnant the first time, too- I’m only telling you this so you have a heads up.  The first time though- for some reason I was convinced I couldn’t get pregnant, so I really wasn’t worried.  Clearly, I was wrong.

Because of my experience, we used some form of BC until after our wedding- when we knew we’d be OK with it even if we weren’t actively trying.

I got pregnant at 33 on our first try on our honeymoon.  My son is almost 2 now.  I got pregnant 2 more times on our first or second try but I MC both times.  Still trying for number 2.

I’ll be 30 in a few months. It’s already taking more than 7 months. So who knows how long more do we need to try. Interesting answers I see almost across the board from first try to 2 years +.

I went off the pill at 34 after being on it for about 13 years. I started charting almost right away. My first cycle was anovulatory. My second one was long. The third one was just right and we successfully conceived, just under 4 months after I took my last pill.
