I’m curious about convertible/multifunction purses. With summer around the corner, and work and travel plans, I’m totally digging Henri Bendel’s Jetsetter convertible backpack at the moment. HB prices seem reasonable, and the colors are oh so pretty! I’ve also looked at Mulberry’s convertible bag too. Mulberry’s look great, and I know that their bags are well made, I just worry about investing in a piece, for that price, when I don’t even know if I will like using it.
What do ya’ll think? Do you have any recommendations or experiences with convertible/multifunction/transformer bags/purses? If you have, I would appreciate any insights, recommendations and/or warnings you have.
Here is Henri Bendel’s Jetsetter convertible backpack:
Even Tay Tay is down for the multi-function party!
Here is Mulberry’s version, that CDL definitely rocked oh so fabulously!

I have something similar. It was a gift. It currently sits in my closet and I’m probably just going to pass it on to my sister. Just doesn’t work for me.

I’d rather buy a bag that was made for a specific purpose: a back pack that is made to stay on your back- the straps don’t keep sliding off my shoulders; a cross body bag that fits closer to the body- doesn’t stick out 6″ at the hip; a clutch in a less boxy shape.
It may do a lot of things, but not a lot of things, well.

I like the idea of being able to use it as a regular handbag or backpack. For me, I need several compartments and a crossbody, but it isn’t as versatile as this one. You could go casual to dressy – nice!

MangoSong: This helps, thank you! I definitely don’t want to blow my money on something that will take up real estate in my closet!
mshoneybeespgbuzz: Me too! GAH! This is hard!
julies1949: Your points are my worse fears if I do end up buying one… Your points are so spot on. Thank you!
quantumleap48: I love pockets and compartments in my bag, it’s definitely a must have! I like that part too, about how you can dress up or down, and/or you can just throw it over your shoulder when you want to. This is so tough!
