I’m trying to decide whether or not to buy a new wedding-day clutch. i don’t have anything ‘fancy’ enough to use but don’t know that i want to go to the extra expense if it’s not necessary.
on the one hand, i can see it not being essential because there won’t be much to carry in it. but at the same time, i can imagine a few things i might need to have on hand to keep close by and can see where it may be useful.
did you use a clutch on your wedding day? or if you didn’t, do you wish you had or did you not even miss it? Thanks!

Commenting to follow. I wasn’t planning on it. I was going to ask one of my BMs to carry my lipstick and maybe some powder for me. I don’t forsee needing my phone or money, and it’d be ncie to keep my hands free.

I did, or something that resembled a clutch. It kept my lipsticks for touch up, a small can of hairspray, my phone, back-up charger, camera, small wallet with my ID and some other things.
It was like this but without the heart, so nothing fancy but it worked and had a LOT of room. This is from Better Life Bags and is part of their nesting pouches (I used the largest one).

I’m not going to carry it, but I will have one at the sweetheart table with a few essentials. This is probably the one I’ll use (I already own and use it).

Nope. It felt like an unneccesary expense and I didn’t miss it at all. I was so distracted the whole dat it didn’t even occur to me to fix my hair or put on some extra lipstick. I really had no need for anything that wasn’t already there.

Nope – although our cabin was a quick walk from our reception area if I’d needed something (I didn’t). My husband carried my lip gloss around for me, so I could refresh it post photos, pre ceremony. If I had decided I needed to carry something, I’d have hauled around my old crappy purse anyway, cause that’s who I am. No one cares what your purse looks like on your wedding day unless, perhaps, you can’t let go of it and it’s all they see.

I’ve been told by my best friend but it is a complete waste. But it is better to have a bridal bag, with a needle and thread and water and wet wipes and makeup and allsorts of things stashed somewhere. Like in car or bridal room.
Maybe put lipstick and some tissues in your fiance’s coat, and be done with it.
Also you may end up with flowers, and a clutch, which is a lot to carry

I got a vintage one for free from a friend so yes, I’m planning on carrying it. More likely than not I’ll probably snap a few photos with it and then hand it off to my Maid/Matron of Honor.

Nope but my wedding dress had pockets so I didn’t need one! 🙂

bananastand: I did not. I had two big bags that I left in the bridal suite all night and grabbed at the end of the evening. I didnt miss it one bit.

I’m planning on carrying one but it’s out of habit more than anything. Aside from lipstick for touch ups, I’ll most likely be carrying my glasses and eye drops in case my eyes end up drying out from the contacts.

I looked for one but never found one I liked enough, but at some point I stopped looking bc I realized I had so much stuff that I needs to use a tote bag ( I had TWO other pairs of shoes!). My bridesmaids carried it for me from the limo to the venue then it stayed in the bridal suite.

I had one, but I gave it to my mom before the ceremony and never thought about it again. I thought I wanted to have my phone to take a couple of pictures myself…but I didn’t even think about it once everything started.

I found this one for I think around $30 and I love it. I put lipstick and breath mints and things like that in it.
