Yes, exactly what I thought I want!

    Not really, slightly different

The exact opposite of what I thought i wanted!

    @Trilly:  Ideal dress twins!

I wanted something tea-length with a full skirt, natural waist, lots of lace, and super demure!

My dress was an ultra-ornate 53lb ballgown with a drop waist!

I picked my dream dress out online. I didn’t start looking at dresses until I was engaged so it’s not like I had a dream dress from way back when. The store didn’t have my dream dress so they ordered it… but of course they had me try on 20+ dresses while I was there (I went on a weekday and it was slowowowowowowowowowow so I pretty much had 3 consultants plus the owner playing dress up with me) and none of the dresses were able to top my dream dress.

When it came in I put it on and just KNEW it was my dress. It was different, and chic, but still felt bridal. I loved it. And I loved how I looked in it. Drop waist, “ballgown”, with just a little bit of bling, and a organza skirt with beautiful train that words just don’t do justice.

@BrandNewBride:  You totally rocked that look. I would’ve looked like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.

@fiona8718:  Yep! I knew exactly what I wanted but figured it didn’t exist and settled. A month ago I decided on a whim to look again just for fun and found the perfect dress! I wanted fitted through the top and hips, no detail so I could add a fun sash, and a ballgown fun fairytale bottom but thought I was being too picky until I found it! So glad I switched!

@fiona8718:  Yep I had the opposite happen to me too!

I thought FOR SURE I was going to get a lace fit and flare or trumpet like this:

    But I got a ballgown!

I never thought in a million years I would ever want a ballgown style.

I thought I wanted a true fit & flare/mermaid, but the Mori Lee 4914 was the first dress I tried on and, after trying on 30 more at 2 separate salons, was the one I ended up purchasing.Smile Way more “fluffy” than anything I had envisioned myself in, but once it was on, I didn’t want to take it off!

@fiona8718:  Hahaha thank you! Oh and it only fits in the picture because of those handy dandy heavy duty clips ๐Ÿ˜‰ I can’t wait for alterations!

@fiona8718:  I always assumed I would end up with a princess dress. a blingy ballgown, and ended up with a Lacey A-line

I was sure that I wanted an A-line tulle gown with one shoulder. Turns out I look horrid in one shoulders and a tulle dress just wasn’t working out. I absolutely hated mermaids and trumpets…well I have a mermaid! And I absolutely love it!!

I wasn’t planning on having a wedding dress at all.  NotFroofy was talking about getting a dress with a high-low hem, and no train.  I figured it would be hard to find a coordinating wedding dress, so I’d look for a similarly formal MOB or bridesmaid’s dress, in a color other than white or ivory.  However, she ended up finding a gorgeous ivory dress with a train.  At that point, I didn’t think I could find anything similarly formal that was not a wedding dress.  Fortunately, our consultant managed to find a dress from an entirely different designer than was the same color, and looked coordinating even though not identical.  The first one is mine; the second is NotFroofy’s.

I thought I was going to wear something very simple, very casual, NO TRAIN! I ended up with a dress covered in lace, buttons down the back and a train! The one thing that was the same for both was that I knew I didn’t want strapless.  I love my dress, even though I did have to bustle the train for the wedding because of the venue.

yes. I thought I had my perfect vision.. Sheath, rouching, mermaid style, a sweetheart neckline, and more bling and details than you knew what to do with. Instead, I got this ๐Ÿ™‚ lace from head to toe! I love my dress!! ๐Ÿ™‚
