Yes, exactly what I thought I want!

    Not really, slightly different

The exact opposite of what I thought i wanted!

I definitely thought I knew what I wanted, sweetheart neckline, ruching, fit and flare and most importantly sleeveless. I ended up with lace sleeves and the back is all lace. A little more poufy than I first imagines and not as obvious sweetheart but I love my dress! It’s definitely what looked better on me and I’m glad I didn’t limit myself to what I thought I wanted

I really wanted the Maggie Sottero Isadora Marie and it was love at first sight when I tried it on! There was no question that it was the dress for me (: I’m glad it worked out, because I had my heart set on that dress for a loooong time 😉

I swore I wanted lace, sleeves, and a-line. I bought a ball gown that was strapless, no lace, and had some feathers!! It took me awhile to finally give in and purchase it bc I couldn’t believe it!

@fiona8718:  The dress you chose is absolutely stunning!

I originally thought I wanted something classic with lace, either Pronovias Pergola:

    Or Pronovias Adela:

But after I just didn’t like how Pergola looked on me and Adela was discontinued, I took it as a sign, not to mention my mom kept saying how the lack of beading or sparkle just wasn’t “me”.

Thank god I kept searching because my dream dress was still out there.

I was thinking straplessc satin, ruched a-line.

styles I thought I liked before dress shopping.

I fell in love with key hole, sleeved, lace 1/2 with satin shirt, grace kelly – kate middleton type of dress.  I had no idea I wanted classic and elegant over modern sexy.  But i fell in love and cannot even imagine wearing another dress.

dress love.  It looks so different on then the model pic.

Nope!  But thats usually how it goes.  I was very focused on mermaids/fit flares with lots of texture in the skirt a la Formentera:

But I ended up with this sheath:

Yes and no.  I wanted something modern and not too pouffy, which I did end up with, but I thought I would end up with something totally modern and edgy and I was obsessed with the idea of having gold on my dress.  It does have some modern and edgy elements (the keyhole opens practically to my butt), but they are more subdued.  Overall it is a very classic lace slim aline gown with pearls and clear beads- no gold at all.  Love it though!

Thought I wanted an A-line, strapless, sweetheart with ruching, and ended up with exactly that, I know my taste pretty well. Haha 😀

I thought I wanted this dress, sheath, flowy, not strapless, lace

I ended up with a ballgown that is far poofier than anything I ever imagined I would buy. It’s still in the same vein though, flowy, not strapless, some lace without being a lace dress, illusion back
