Well, we kinda went shopping together. For Valentines day we stayed at a hotel thats connected to Mall of America. We were trying to pass time before dinner walking around the mall so I popping into the clearance area of Helzberg Diamonds for fun when we spotted it. I immediately saw my ring & they asked if i wanted to try on & I did. I told them we werent buying or even really looking but she decided to write down the ring number for Darling Husband in case he ever wanted to come back for it & we laughed after & Im like uhhh yeah right girl. I wasnt expecting a proposal for at least a few months if not a year & I guess I was sticker shocked at the price of rings. Feb 17th is my birthday & it turned out that the day before my bday while I was at work Darling Husband went & bought it & propsed on my bday.
So I mean I did pick it out but it was unknowingly & totally by chance.

I didn’t and I am glad. I had no idea he was thinking of proposing so I got the surprise of my life. I guess everyone is different but I would rather be surprised than knowing he has the ring and just waiting for him to pop the question.

I’m pretty picky about my jewelry; I don’t have many pieces of good jewelry, and I really want my engagement ring (and wedding ring) to be pieces I’ll adore forever. I told my SO I would prefer to go ring browsing together to see how things look on my hand, and for him to get a feel of what I’d like the most. Turns out, in a store full of sparklies, everything looks amazing 😉
But I’m really glad he and I went together, because while I had told him “bezel bezel bezel” for a few months leading up to it, I actually prefer something daintier and more classic on my hand.
We’ll see what he ends up getting- I gave him links to about 6 different rings I love, plus commentary, and he can take from that what he wishes. I think he still wants to surprise me.

We went shopping together twice. Once just to get our feet wet and see all the different styles and the second time we narrowed our search down to solitaire rings and searched high and low for the right setting.
We actually ended up purchasing online. As fun as in store shopping was, I always left the stores feeling a tad uneasy with the sales people, even in the high end stores. We found many beautiful settings in the stores but online we were able to narrow it down to exactly what we both loved…and we saved a pretty penny too!

Went shopping together because we had no idea what would look good on me. We’re both relieved we chose that option because we had very different ideas of what the ideal ring is. He wanted a fancy smancy double shank halo e-ring, while I wanted a plain solitaire that’s fit for my line of work. We settled on a solitaire on with a pave shank: simple for me, enough sparkle for him haha he needs his fabulous.

We shopped last year (just looked, priced) kinda got ideas. Im glad we didnt buy anything then because sometimes im not sure if Im ready. I dont want to get caught up in all the wedding hub bub before the relationship. So currently just enjoying the relationship (dating almost 2 years) so who knows what will happen next.

Yep, we shopped together. He actually bought the ring that day, and we had it sent out to sized. He picked it up when it was ready and then proposed about a month later! I thought he was going to make me wait until our Hawaii vacation 5 months later!

We never actually went shopping together. I had talked a little about what I liked and for months before I had pointed out a few at a store once. I was more trying to give him some direction so he wasnt completely confused haha but I wanted him to pick it out on his own.
