No. I just don’t like the idea of my dog sleeping on my bed. He is only allowed on the sofa and he sits/lays on his own blanket. I did let  him sleep with me when he came down with the doggie flu and after mouth surgery. If he ever needs another operation or is ill he can sleep with me. We have a queen so hubby will have to sleep on the sofa 😊

Our two 60+ pound boys sleep in our queen sized bed with us every night with no issues. The only exception is in the summer when our goldendoodle gets too warm, then he’ll get up in the middle of the night to sleep on our bathroom floor or in the shower 🤷‍♀️

No, all of our animals (two cats and a dog) sleep downstairs in their own beds and aren’t allowed on our bed or in our bedroom. I think it’s unhygienic to share a bed with pets, especially dogs.

We have two dogs. The larger, older one does not like sleeping on the bed unless it’s very cold. She sleeps in her bed which is on the floor by my side. The other dog loves to sleep snuggled up with us though.

sarathemermaid :  I have the same issue. She normally only sleeps with us if it’s only one of us, and she still sometimes prefers her bed.

She leaves our bed at night as soon as we stop petting her. Oh well.

lifeisbeeutiful :  Or put booties on, especially since it’s good to do in the summer and winter to protect their paws.

sbl99 :  no dog in our bed – there isn’t enough space. We have made exceptions when the heat went out once, etc but he doesn’t even like sleeping on bed with us. If my husband is gone for the night I’ll have the dog up but he will cuddle for a bit and then go down to his own bed in the middle of the night.

Our dog has her own crate in our room and puts herself to bed at night when she’s tired, so no.

But she is allowed up onto the foot of the bed during relaxing/ lounging time and frequently takes naps while there … so yes, too.

Yes but my dog is only 20lb and doesn’t shed. I couldn’t live with fur, it’s gross and we have allergies. We also bathe him often.

Haha I love that’s your solution. We tried the dog off the furniture rule but you know what life is short, pups life is shorter, we just want to enjoy all the snuggles <3

I always wonder how much of this comes from family influence. My parents are CRAZY dog people. They work from home and have three dogs that they’re obsessed with. All three dogs sleep with them, every night, so it’s just always been normal to me. As for the hygiene, in their decades of dog ownership and Fiance and I’s 2 years, there haven’t been any issues. Maybe I’d feel differently if I had a gross dog, but mine is fairly dainty…she’s really only ever in the yard to relieve herself, doesn’t play in the mud, and she’s so short-haired that we see any mess. I’m sure she drags some germs into the house/bed, but hey…a stronger immune system, right?

No, but I don’t think she would even if let her. My fiance’s mom lives downstairs in the basement and I think the dog likes being able to move around and check on everyone. Sometimes she’ll sleep downstairs, sometimes she’ll sleep outside our door, it just depends. She is invited up on the bed when we’re just lounging for some cuddles but she almost always leaves on her own accord.

Plus she’s an 80lb german shepherd and I don’t really want to be eating dog hair all night LOL

The last dog I had sleep in bed with me hurt himself jumping down when he got older, so I put the stop to all that and actually hubby and I agreed to have zero dogs on the furniture. The reality is that just means we’re on the floor with her all the time!

No, but that’s her choice.  I wish she would!
