Yes, our dog sleeps in bed with us….as did our dog that passed last year. Both are large labs and take up a lot of room. We got our first dog as a puppy and had her 13 years – she slept with us since day 1. Our younger dog (who is now roughly 12) we rescued and have had her almost 7 years. She would only get into bed when our older dog got out. Now that she’s the only dog she sleeps in bed all night.

DH and I have both agreed that we will not let any future dogs sleep in bed. DS is 14 months, and when he’s older and we get any future dogs they can sleep with him. We didn’t care as much when we were in our early 20’s and carefree. Now we’re both mid 30’s, have a baby, and do not enjoy sharing the bed. At this point we just can’t bring ourselves to kick her out.

I don’t even get in bed without taking a shower first. I love my husky (a very clean dog breed, too), but it’s a definite nope.

Yes, our cats and dogs do. One dog won’t come up until she is called up, so she normally doesn’t sleep with us every night our other dog comes up whenever he pleases and I have never tried to tell my cats they can’t sleep on the bed, not sure that would go over well or at all really. Our husky is about fifty pounds and if you get up he takes over your space instantly. If we are both on the bed he typically will curl up in the middle of us but sometimes he can encroach on your space.

We switched to a king a few years ago and I highly recommend it!
