I was always the youngest and I loved it! I can also say I started at university when I was 17 😛 although technically I only started orientation. August is a great birthday month. The one birthday downside is that people are often away on vacation so Ive never had a huge party. Upside is no school on your birthday! What’s your due date?

Loved my August birthday! I didn’t have to work or go to school on my birthday until I was like 27. It was awesome! I was young for my age and I liked it! I was impatient to get my license but all my friends drove me around so no biggie!

Haha it made me feel smarter than everyone else. Like the rest of the class was 13 and I was 12 doing the same work 😉 that only lasted until high school math classes though, lol

It never bothered me until I was the last of my friends to turn 21! haha! My bday is AUg 22nd, and by school cut off was Sept 1st so I was always the youngest. It worked out well for me growing up because I was really athletic so I played 2-3 years up in soccer anyway. I could see it sucking if you’re slow to develop though. And I missed having my bday celebrated at school but I’m not sure they still do that anyway? Also I love that I get presents all year around 🙂

My birthday is Aug 27 and school usually started around the 12th. I loved having my birthday first!! It was so great that I had one friend who didn’t turn 16 until January but she had her car when she was 15 (a Lexus) so I drove us to school in her car!!

My bday is Aug 2 and I was the youngest in my class of 17…I LOVED it! My nephew’a bday is also Aug 2 (he’s 18 years younger than me) but my sister and Brother-In-Law started him a year late at age 6 for maturity reasons (so he’s one of the oldest in his class). He’s now 8 and in 2nd grade and is the smartest in his class. I’m a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (aka School Psychologist) and I often see girls with August bdays start Kinder when they are 5 and boys with August bdays start Kinder when they are 6. Boys tend to behaviorally mature slower than girls but it is very individualized to the child. You’ll know what you should do when the time comes because you will know what your child is capable of and what they are ready or not ready for.

My birthday is August 6 and the fact that I graduated high school at 17 instead of 18 was awesome. Honestly I didn’t mind that a lot of my classmates where older. It didn’t bother me one bit. Yay for Leo babies.

My brother was an August baby and he was always the youngest. My parents do believe that it might have hurt his academics in early elementary school, but my brother himself never seemed to mind and he got into a good college and then a good law school so I guess it all worked out. He hated that his birthday was in the summer when school was out and friends were harder to gather up, though.

One of my best friends is a November baby whose parents somehow snuck her in to our grade despite a September cut-off. She loves getting to say she graduated high school at 17 and college at 20 (she only went for three years to get her degree). But I gotta say having gone through middle school and high school with her, she was always stressed about being behind academically, but I don’t know that it would have been any different if her parents had kept her out of school for another year.
