I was on BC pills both times I got pregnant. Even with a 99% success rate, with millions of women using it, someone is going to get pregnant.

You know, Darling Husband and I were talking about this the other day.  He says we can’t even call DS unplanned, not really.

We were having great, GREAT sex when Dirty Delete was about 12 weeks old.  We knew we wanted more kids, but we were going to wait until she was like a year old.  We spur of the moment (like IN the moment) decided to just give it one shot.

I wasn’t charting, I didn’t know if I was ovulating or anything, he did his business the one time, and BAM pregnant.  This was a surprise, since Dirty Delete took so much work to conceive, but it’s not like we didn’t know it could happen.  We just didn’t think it would!

@trueblue14:  I worry about that. I definitely want kids, but not for another 1-2 years. Since Darling Husband and I stopped doubling up on protection after the wedding, I think about that 1%. Like you said, somebody is going to get pregnant.

I got pregnant on the pill (I’m now 31 weeks).  TTC was still 1-2 years off for us.

We were using condoms very inconsistently. We kind of didn’t care, and the pregnancy wasn’t unwelcome, just not planned for.

ETA: I was 24, Darling Husband was 31.

Re: the poll options, do people really consider getting pregnant when you aren’t using protection to be “unplanned”?  We all know where babies come from…

I’m on birth control but I get nervous every month… My mom had her tubes tied when she got pregnant with me so I’m living proof that nothing is 100% safe! haha

I was on birth control and had been for 4 years. We never used protection. i was on my last week of BC, when I had an appointment to go get it refilled. I had to reschedule for something work related.

I thought I would be ok, because I heard it stays in your system for a little bit. Well, I didnt take BC for 1.5 weeks and BAM I was pregnant. But, it we didnt really care. I was super excited. I was 23 and my fiance was 27. I guess during that time frame (1 week) we could have used condoms, but 1 I didnt think it would happen that quick and 2 I didn’t really care. Now, we have a two year old little girl who is our life. We want another soon!

we used the old fashioned pull-out method. never used condoms, hate BC so just had him pull-out. It worked for us for nearly 4 YEARS! Never had a slip up, never got drunk and forgot, nothing, he pulled-out everytime! And yes, obivously I know that’s not 100% but it was still a surprise, a wonderful, beautiful, bouncing surprise. She is now 15 months old and the absolute greatest accomplishment of  our lives. She was unplanned but certainly not unwanted. 😉

I was using the nuvaring. It was working fine. It didn’t fall out-I wasn’t on antibiotics. I found out when I took a blood test at the dr. office.I had the baby (my son-now 5!)

2nd time was with condoms that broke. We normally used condoms and if one broke or slipped I took the morning after pill. I didn’t take the pill that once and…pregnant. Miscarried at 4 weeks.

I now use paraguard. No babies sence!
