I am 35 so most of my friends already have children and most of the children are 5 or older already which kind of sucks. My BFF was pregnant at the same time as me with her 3rd child but unfortunately it was an ectopic pregnancy. Also my older sister isn’t married yet and has no children and my SIL has a daughter but she is 14, so my baby isn’t really going to have any cousins to play with, so we are definitely going to have at least one more baby, so our child will have a sibling and won’t be lonely. I may look into mommy playgroups once my baby is born, so my child can interact with other babies his age.

amanda3334455: my BFF has two kiddos one in preK, 1 in 1st grade and they live 2hrs away, so while I’m on mat leave I’ll visit when I can (and it will be winter here so that could be dodgy-they get way more snow than we do!)
my bro will be home with his 3mo when I start mat leave but he is 5hrs away…I’m sure we’ll be skyping with the babies though!
I have one friend here in town who has a 6mo old, love her dearly but in small doses, she is intense and a half. she’ll be going back to work about the time my mat leave ends.
my Mother-In-Law and stepMIl are both semi-retired so will be game for baby visits on the regular and I have two close girlfriends I used to do lunch dates during the week with when I worked nights so that will be fun to take baby along for.
Other than that…I’ve found 3-4 local mom groups in my area to check out. It’s only 12weeks that I could do weekday stuff but it would be nice to check out their weekend family activities and moms night out stuff even once I’m back to work! I found them just by googling moms group or new moms group and my area. I’ve also ruled out a couple of the more “natural” mama groups that I know of based on too-crunchy for me/antivaxxers during flu season is not my jam.
Looking forward to reading through this thread later…for now it’s off to make dinner, I mean order pizza. First trimester=survival mode lol

amanda3334455: one of my best friends is in the same boat. NTNP for over two years and nothing yet. we’ve been friends since high school and I so want our kids to grow up together!
another dear friend and his wife are going on 1.5yrs TTC and have had a diagnosis of something that’s problematic.
Haven’t told these two friends yet, I love them both and don’t want to hurt them. I figure we’ll tell by 9-12weeks but before a large scale announcement.
