So heres the results from my hair trial and they are do different. Which one do you prefer and why?
They will obviously both be neater on the day my poor hair had already been teased and sprayed to within an inch of its life!

Here’s my dress also if it makes any difference. I will be wearing this exact veil too.

I love the half up half down!

Wow, they both look absolutely beautiful! I personally prefer the updo. The dress has a lot going on, so I think the elegant simplicity of the second hairstyle would complement it beautifully!

I think they both look amazing, so honestly I’d make my decision based on the wedding… I had a hair style similar to the first, and I was SO HOT that half way through my ceremony the curls had fallen quite a bit. I would have gone with an updo had I known better

abc123joanna makes a really good point – my wedding was a hot end of July wedding with an outdoor ceremony and I SO regret not getting a full updo. My curls undid themselves and I was sweating having hair on my back. If I could do it again, I’d do the full updo.

- Wedding: December 2014 - Norton Country Club
I love them both too, but I went with the half up based on the veil you’ll be wearing. I think the PP comment about considering the weather is a great point!

clairelou29: I really love the second one. I think the first one is really pretty , but to me it looks more “prom-ish”. The second one is very elegant.

clairelou29: haha your poll made me laugh “they’re both hideous..” as if!!! You have GORGEOUS hair and they’re both beautiful styles done really well, but the half up half down one is the winner.

Full updo. If you want to stay looking awesome in all conditions I think it is the best way to go! My hair was similar and still flawless after 18 hours of nervous sweat, Aussie heat and dancing my ass off. 😛

clairelou29: I LOVE the half up/down one! Gorgeous!

What kind of wedding and reception?
Time of year?
Will you take off the veil for the reception?
Are you changing dresses for the reception?

Any chance you could do full updo for the ceremony and let it down for the reception? Both are really beautiful. Do you have pics of the front?

I love the full updo!! My hair was half up half down in an October wedding and it fell out completely before i walked down!! So sad!

prettyinpink11: applecat: thank you ladies! 🙂
abc123joanna: MOHlookingForIdeas: Olivepepper: bootsky: the worry about it not staying and me getting too hot is probably the major reason that I have not settled on this style yet. I love the look of it just not the practicality.
MrsSpagan: haha well some people are bound to hate them.
sharksgrl99: we are having a modern wedding at an upmarket boutique hotel, it will be at the end of July where temperatures in the UK at the maximum are around 31 degrees (around 87F) I will definitely take the veil off for the reception probably after the first dance. And I am still undecided about a second dress however if i do get one it will still be floor length of a slinkier silhouette.
mg1363: I wish I could do both but the undo will have been set so much into place I’m sure it will look like a birds nest if I took it out!
