Darling Husband and I have decided it is time to TTC! I know everyone is different… I just want to know everyones experiences.
I stopped my BC (nuva ring) this morning and, even though it is unlikely since all of the hormones need to get out of my system, we hope to become pregnant ASAP. Now, I know that wont necessarily happen… But I’m just being hopeful. I have an ovulation kit and am reading “Taking Charge of your Fertility,” so I’m hoping ot works out soon!
Did anyone stop their BC and get pregnant right away? I know that a lot of people stop their BC about 3 months before they’re actually ready to TTC… We considered that but were afraid of getting pregnant before everything was good to go.
Also, any tips for getting pregnant faster in addition to the ovulation kit? I also read about a sperm-friendly lube that is apparently good to use while TTC, but dont remember what it is called. Did anyone use that/is it worth it/can we keep using the regular Astroglide like we normally do?
Thanks yall! Happy baby making!

I went off BC in June when we wanted to start trying, and got pregnant at the end of November, so 6 months. I had also read taking charge of your fertility, and was tracking my periods but that was it. In November, I started using OPK’s and then we got pregnant right away.

LeonardLady: Good thread! We haven’t started TTC yet (Wedding in November), but I am interested to see the results. I’m also on NuvaRing!

I stopped taking BCP in early Sept in preparation for TTC in a few months. I got pregnant in late Nov. We avoided the fertile window in Sept and Oct, so that was our first shot.

I stopped bcp in June got pregnant end of July well technically August but last mp was end of July so technically your already pregnant at your last mp. Only took us a month.

Do NOT use regular lube. It will kill the sperm. Use nothing or a TTC-friendly lube.
And if you check out the charts on FF, the average length of time if takes people to get pregnant (people who are charting and know exactly when they ovulate) is 7 months. So don’t get too disapointed if it doesn’t happen immediately.
Best of luck!

And I was on NuvaRing before we TTC too. My cycle regulated immediately. But I miss the NuvaRing dearly! My periods are horrible without it!

Hormones do not stay in your system that long- they should be out something like 3 or 4 days? I went off before we really wanted to get pregnant but I got pregnant immediately. It really is a crapshoot- hard to tell what you will get. Some regulate right away and others take awhile.
