- Wedding: February 2005 - Shreveport, LA
My true diamond engagement ring is a 1ct princess cut, however I have several moissy sets I wear and those are all 2ct equivalent. I also have a 1.44ct blue sapphire set. My friend group doesn’t really wear anything other than wedding bands but my coworkers all have under 1ct. So it’s a mixture. Where I live you see any size from .25 all the way to huge size lol Here’s my diamond ring:

I love that it’s becoming more celebrated to pick the stone that is right for you. I really enjoy the diversity of rings I see on the Bee. IRL, I mostly see white gold and white stones on women 40ish and younger and yellow gold and white stones on women over 40, but reccently I had one friend who got a blue sapphire and one who got a rose gold ring, so I think that will be more common. I’ve heard Gen Zers love to be different from one another even more so than past generations, so that’s something to look forward to!
Small fingers really do change perception. I have small fingers so it took me a while to find just the size stone I was comfortable with and finally decided I will be getting a .8 ct dew moissy. I’m also in a larger city and have found the same, that most of my friends are still single, and those that are married have vastly different sizes.

I have a 1.03ct round diamond! I’m one of the first in my friend group to get engaged, so I can’t really judge if mine is big/small/average in comparison. I’m also the only person of those who have gotten engaged to have a solitaire, both other girls I know have halos, so I’m sure mine looks smaller at first glance even if their center stones are smaller than mine.

I’m actually not sure of the ring size, but think it’s perhaps a carat equivalence moissonite? Opinions welcome lol. Below is a photo, my hands are 5.5.
I would say my ring is average for my area. I rarely see significantly bigger but then, I don’t roll in wealthy circles for the most part. Not that many of my friends are married, but o it of my small sample size, two have non diamond stones and two have diamond-appearing stones.

Mine is bigger than I see around my circle but I also got married later in life in comparison. My center stone is 2.7

Love it! I think the thick band is super classy
Very pretty. I would guess 1.5 ct DEW maybe?

I voted for .75-1 but when we first started looking at rings we were looking at .5 carat diamonds which is what was in our budget. I wanted a halo to accentuate the diamond a little more. Unknown to me he was then gifted an heirloom diamond that is .84 carats and faces up like a 1 carat as it’s not a very deep diamond. If I had known we were getting this diamond I would have chosen a solitaire setting but he loves the halo, it just feels a little blingy at times but I do love my ring.

I love the proportions of your ring! It’s perfect.

I have a three stone and the biggest diamond is just under half a carat. I definitely am on the small end at my work and in our circle of friends.
Most of our friends are professionals who got engaged with a few years of an established career under their belts. I think if we had gotten engaged a few years into our career (vs in college) I would likely have a larger stone but I also think I would have gotten a gem stone if I stumbled across this site earlier so who knows.

Is it rose gold? I think it’s lovely and not all too blingy joannajb :
