I’m in the process of booking my honeymoon and am curious to know approximately how much everyone else spent or plans to spend on their honeymoon. This is the cost for both you and your other half with spending money included.
Although I’m from the UK I’ve put the poll into USD since the majority of bees are American.
Feel free to tell me where you went or will go and how long for, its always interesting to hear what people have planned

For the honeymoon, we went to Excellence Playa Mujeres all-inclusive in Mexico, we splurged for the rooftop pool suite and with flights from US it was $4,000 for a week.
We’ve been to the Bahamas a few times on cruises and that is usually around $1,000-1,500 for the cruise (with food obviously), some excurisions and gas.
We’re going to Cabo all-inclusive in January and that will be $1,500 total but we have free flights.
I’m hoping to go to Hawaii for an anniversary, I’ve always wanted to go there. We’re also looking at crusies to the Virgin Islands and Turls & Caicos.

jpbee: Darling Husband and I love to travel. While we never looked at a budget, my best guess is $6,000. We both flew from DC to Greece via Moscow. Flights were $2400 and Russian visas were $320. Hotels and ferries in Greece were $1500. Then flights to Turkey were $600. Hotels in Turkey were $400. So we spent a little over $5000 before food. My guess is $6k

We went on a 4 night cruise from Florida to the Bahamas. Food and some activities were included. We spent money on a glass bottom boat tour and on the unlimited alcohol package. After the cruise we spent two days in Disney World at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. We stayed at Pop Century Resort. We spent most of our money on food (some sit down meals and a character breakfast). Our flights to Florida were free because I had a voucher from United Airlines.
With spending money I think we ended up spending around $3000, although I’m not entirely sure. We planned on spending less but got some money at the rehearsal dinner from my Father-In-Law that he wanted us to spend on the honeymoon. So we splurged a little bit. It was worth every penny!

jpbee: Honeymoon was very important for us because that was the one thing just for us. We both knew from the start we wanted to do a trip to Europe and we were going to make it happen.
We went to Paris & Barcelona. (3 night in Paris, 7 nights in Barcelona). We spent about $4K on hotel and airfare. And we spent about another $2500 (i might be over estimating) on food and drink and some excursions.

We are going to the Dominican Republic for 7 nights in February. We’re staying at the Majestic Elegance, which is all-inclusive. We’re paying a little over $4,400.
It’s not adults-only, but we’re staying in the “Elegance Club” which is, and gets you some added perks (butler, private lounge, private beach/pools, a couple private bars, 24-hour room service, amoung some other things).
Our flights are what is costing us the most, as we have to fly to a major hub to get to Punta Cana and that is not cheap – even though it’s just a 3 hour drive. But, we’d rather fly back into our city than have to drive back in the winter – so, we’ll pay the convenience.

Fiance hasn’t really told me how much we are spending but I am thinking its anywhere from $3,000 – $5,000. We are going skiing but not sure where yet but I know we will be there for 5 days… We are either going to Colorado or Wyoming. We are from Texas where we only have two seasons Summer and Winter LOL. So Colorado or Wyoming is a must for us! I love the cold winter months .

jpbee: I voted for $1,000-$3,000 (with our total cost at booking fof $1,600). We are going to Negril Jamaica in May for 7 days/6nights. It is $800/person for the all-inclusive hotel and Airfare. Everything will be included, so we’ll just bring extra $$ for gifts and tips.

We are spending ten days at a high-end boutique all-inclusive in Aruba and spending around $8,000 including airfaire. Our honeymoon budget was $10k so we have some extra cash to spend on excursions, tours, and off-resort dining if desired.

I think we spent around $8500 for 2 weeks in Italy. It was money WAY better spent than the tens of thousands on our one day wedding in my opinion!

We went to Hawaii, so ours was definitely up there! We did a honeymoon fund to help pay for it though, used VRBO to rent our own house on the Big Island, and compensated with honeymoon freebies and discounts for 2 weeks! For anyone planning their honeymoon – always tell everyone it’s your honeymoon!
Also, when else are you going to splurge on a vacation like this?

We went to Japan. Our honeymoon was worth wayyyy more than what we spent because we used airline miles to pay for our flights, and hotel points to pay for a majority of our hotels. I’d say that our honeymoon was valued at $5000 – 7000 but we spent less than that.

jpbee: We went to Sandals St Lucia and I think we spent 5-6K total including flights. Would do it again in a heartbeat

UK bee here!
We’re looking at £3k max.
Original plan was a week doing a Scottish tour – 3 nights in Edinburgh, then 4 nights in Pitlochry, as it’ll be winter and all cosy <3
Now I’m looking at Iceland/Finland/Lapland/etc for Aurora Borealis hunting.
