We are going on a cruise. Fiance is a student and money is tight since we are paying for the honeymoon ourselves. A cruise was a good option because we can drive to Galveston and avoid airfare costs. We are going for one week and including our deluxe balcony room, cruise insurance, excursions, alcohol and food, and gratuities it will be around $2800. Our goal was to spend a total of $2500, so not bad. One nice thing about the cruise is that we will stepping onboard with EVERYTHING paid for.

I voted 0-$1000. We’ve cruised before and been to resorts in the Bahamas and Mexico. We desperately want to go to Europe but couldn’t afford it right now. So we decided to save our money and stay at FIs parents beach house for the week after the wedding. and for our 1 year anniversary we plan to have our trip to Europe!

jpbee:  We wanted to go on a really epic trip, and so combined that with a “delayed” honeymoon.  We went to South America for three weeks, including hiking the Inca Trail in Peru, and down into Brazil for two World Cup games.  We also budgeted a lot for food and drink and souvenirs so that we could fully enjoy ourselves.  I think in total we budgeted and spent around $20,000, but a good chunk of that was for flights – we basically flew from the top of the world, down to the bottom, and back up again.

I voted for $1k-$3k, although we may spend more than $3k.  We’re going to Oahu for a week next January, and my cousin generously gifted us her timeshare as a wedding gift so our stay there is free!  So far we’ve spent $1500 for both of our plane tickets, and the rest will go towards car rental and spending money.

We went to Eastern Europe for three weeks and spent about $2500 (from Canada).  We got really lucky though, because my parents paid for our flights and my relatives pooled money together to give us a bit of spending money while we were there.  Of our own, we spent $2500, would have cost us closer to $7K though….

DH and I went to Cabo for a week in September last year and it was $1600 total for both of us. It was an all inclusive resort and the flights are included in that price! Granted it was “hurricane” season on the Baja side but it did not rain once!

I didn’t vote because things may change before next summer, but since Fiance and I are paying for our wedding ourselves, we don’t have a big honeymoon budget. At this point our plan is to pick a non-traditional honeymoon destination within driving distance (we’ve talked about Nashville, for example) and find fun and inexpensive touristy-type adventures with perhaps a few splurges thrown in.

We spent about $5k total with spending money for 10 nights in Panama… but we also redeemed about $900 worth of frequent flyer miles, expedia points etc. so I guess $6k is more accurate.

We did a night in Panama City at the beginning and end of the trip, 3 nights in Bocas del Toro in an overwater cabin, and 5 nights at Isla Palenque (which was amaaazing).

ours was a steal…we wanted to do it as affordably as possible, so after a LOT of research and extensive planning, we found a camper right on the water in key largo, florida that cost us about $600 for the week – and we paid around $900 for flights and jeep rentals into miami (from charlotte). we took about $1200 to spend, and had a great time with that amount of money to spend. we saw and did everything, and even took a drive from key largo to key west and spent a night there in a room that was a wedding gift from some friends. $2200 for 6 nights/7 days isn’t too bad if you ask me!

We’re trying to plan everything with points and miles, so we’ll be taking first class flights to and from Hawaii (worth 7k alone just for the cost of taxes and fees!), staying at 4-5 star hotels, and visiting 3 Hawaiian islands for around 3k, which includes spending money, car rentals, and a few nights in a house rental so we can get the local experience. We’ll be there for 13 days.

We’re going to Europe for 10 days. We’re spending a few days in Italy and then getting on a Med Cruise. We knew it’d be expensive, so our honeymoon is actually a year and a half delayed. So far, the cruise itself was about $1000 pp, and the flights/hotel was about $3500. I still anticipate spending a couple hundred more on food, transportation, tickets, etc.
