- Wedding: June 2013
I’m totally torn between two ideas for my wedding day look: A vintage, playful look versus something that’s simple, summery and feminine.
A bit about our wedding:
Our ceremony is in a quiet nook of Central Park, with 30 people. We’re then traveling to a garden restaurant in Brooklyn for a bbq/taco truck reception with 60. I want to keep my wedding look true to who I am–the problem is I love to wear different styles in real life!
I hope that the answer will click into place when I see the looks in person, but I’m also interested to see what the general consensus on the Bee is, since I have reservations about both looks–is the vintage thing too cutesy or kitschy? Is the second, feminine look too bland or predictable? Which one suits our wedding more?
So, below are pictures of the two looks, as well as a picture of me at the end. (I included Zooey D’s hair in both ideas because she’s my hair inspiration and when the pros get their hands on me my hair looks like hers.)
If you have any comments on why you voted the way you did that would be awesome, too!
Look 1: Vintage and playful
1. Tea-length/knee length dress with bubble/birdcage veil, possibly pearls, brighter lips, and hair likely up.
Possible updo with birdcage veil:
Look 2: Simple and Feminine
Sweet and simple summertime style–simple floor length dress with hair down, pinned to the side with a white flower. Soft, natural makeup shades.
(I couldn’t find a picture of hair like mine down with a flower in it, alas.)
Last but not least, this is me:
