They seem late 90s/early aughts to me but they’re hardly ugly.

I guess I’m tacky and outdated because they’re my go to. I don’t have any pics but that’s how my nails were for my wedding. I think it looks more natural looking and isn’t as noticable when your nails starts growing out.

Everything will become outdated at some point or another. I’m a firm believer in doing whatever you want/like, as long as it makes you happy!

I don’t think they are ugly, but I do think they are dated.  I think french ombre is a lot more current for the same kind of classic/neutral look.

I think they’re still classic, like a cat eye or a red lip. A more on trend version would be a solid colored nude or pale pink.

I love french tips. I get them every time because I hate it when my nails grow and there’s that gap. With french tips nail growth is hardly noticeable because it’s clear.

luckybum :  While the trend may have died some, I think a nice french can always be kept classy….on natural, shorter nails, in the ombre style or American/French. When in doubt, go solid neutral.

OMG i never thought French tips would be anything but classic. If anything I think the nail shape you choose makes you nails look dated rather than a french manicure its self.  I have started experimenting with more of a natural color other than white for the tip and I like the results.  I see a lot of french manicures still in my area.

Outdated, especially with the white or overly wide tips. Some people do a natural looking tip with sheer polish. Pale colors are more current.

I think it’s dated, but if you like it- who cares?

I got this for my wedding. It’s like a ombre french manicure

I’ll probably get flames thrown at me but I see them much more on older than younger women.  I’m 29 and it seems like majority of women my age get either the bright colors in the summer or solid dark (like dark grey or black) in the winter.  I also see a lot of long nails and nail art.

I think they’re classic! You can’t go wrong.
