The only french I have seen that I like with a bright white, is with very thin white, and on a more elongated nail plate.

But I still think a more blended look is prettier, at least for myself.

RayKay :  well I figured since everyone was saying how outdated they were, that I’d point out that some do in fact grow that way. And my nails look natural and not fake. So sorry for commenting. I wasn’t aware of rules as of what I can post about my nails.

jcent :  I just had a friend who did these for her wedding. It really complimented her pale pink dress. It was very nicely done.

Glenda_the_good_witch :  A French MANICURE – which OP ws asking about – is not the same as natural nails that grow out with white tips. Of course yours look natural…because they are.

BubblesandCupcakes :  Haha same! I sadly still love the “tacky” fake French acrylic look and didn’t realize it was considered 90s/00s … :-/ Also I love my brown monogram bag lol… LV Speedy that I got for a crazy good price! I think it’s classic. However the colored monogram bags, not so classic. (I had a fake one in middle school and unless you know what colors to look for, people will probably consider it fake)

luckybum :  I think they were super popular around 2000-2010 especially the long, square-tipped acrylic ones. After that, I noticed more women having shorter, rounded natural nails with neutral or pale pink colors.

However, I still like them as they are classic. But I would get the rounded tip shorter ones.

I think of French manicures as very 90s. I thought they looked tacky then and I still do now.

I love a french mani with my engagement ring but I do the more natural look.

I prefer very square. I know it’s not in style (dang) but oh well

They’re just very Real Housewife circa 2002 to me. I’m sure they will come back into vogue in 5-10 years and we’ll all be horrified by the current nail art trends.

The classic white strip french manicures (top pic) seem outdated to me, but the softer more natural ones (bottom pic) are nice and just look like well groomed natural nails.

That said – I’m no nail expert and I’ve never even taken a ring pic haha.

kellykapoor :  yes! It depends on how it’s done. The top one looks lovely and i’d do that look for a more understated look. However the bottom one is so dated now and I really don’t like the look of those squared off french nails.
