It looks pretty short. Where does it fall to on you?
Is semi-formal called out? Whenever I see semi-formal, I think cocktail dress at the least, or like a really nice jumpsuit or pant suit. I don’t think of that type of dress, sorry! If it was more casual, then yes, that is fine (like an outdoor garden wedding or a day time wedding). But if semi-formal is called out and its a night wedding, I would go with something a little more dressy than that.
It’s a very cute dress, but it doesn’t scream semi-formal to me.
If it’s a brunch or afternoon wedding, yes. If it’s an evening wedding, no.
Sorry but it looks like a beach dress. It’s a no from me.
You might feel a bit semi conscious about the white in the dress. Also, when I think semi formal, I think dark cocktail dresses.
I wouldn’t call that semi formal.
Are you comfortable? Is it clean?
All the weddings I have been to – formal, semi-formal or otherwise have ladies wearing dresses like that. My only question is would you feel uncomfortable if you were underdressed?
It’s a pretty dress.
Semi-formal just means cocktail dresses. I would say it’s fine for a summer wedding, but it does look very short. The white is a total non-issue.
Thanks for the advice everyone! It’s a summer afternoon wedding and semi formal was explicitly stated on the wedding website. It sounds like semi formal evening wedding is different than semi formal afternoon wedding? I don’t want to look underdressed and it sounds like this is borderline
I think it is a cute dress, but too casual for the occasion. I’d go with a longer silhouette in a darker color.
I think for an afternoon wedding it would be great! Dress it up with some heels and I think you’d be good. I think as long as you avoid sandals, no one will mistake for a beach dress (????) lol.
