I can’t do old houses!  They’ve absorbed way too much and I can’t hang!  But if you enjoy creepy, this sounds like it’s right up your alley!

herrera2016 :  my house was built in 1869 and Darling Husband and I are 99% sure that we have had some ghostly activity over the years. A few things have scared us, but for the most part we forget how old it is (and try to pretend that no one died in it although that’s highly unlikely). If it was daily creepy stuff I’d be out of there though!

herrera2016 :  Omg, it sounds dreamy! I voted, Hell no, but that place is too cool! Get it so we can see pictures!

PS- if ghosts do freak you out, you could always do that burning sage thing.

Nope. Hell nope. Grew up in one and I hate being home alone or in the dark because of it.

I don’t believe in ghosts (boring atheist) but I do believe in a good deal, lol. A friend of mine and his husband just bought an amazing house for half of the market value because someone was murdered in it and the body stayed in the house for a week. Buyers were convinced it was haunted and they let it sit there as the price went down, which is when they swooped in. It’s morbid as hell but they’re happy with their house and I’d be happy to stay there while visiting.

    herrera2016 :  nope…nope… nope.

Hubby and I went to the oldest jail in my state a few days ago. It was built in the 1830s. I didn’t like the vibe I got in there especially in the cells. They actually had the guy they think that was jack the ripper as an inmate there until he was transfered to another state and hanged!!!

I can’t imagine living in a house and having to deal with that vibe everyday. I’m OK with an occasional hello from a departed family member but not a persistent ghost. My hubby has his grandma visit every so often. He feels her and he smells her scent. He loved his grandma so I figure she pops in and says hello every so often. He always has something great happen a few days after she visits. So he gets excited when he smells and feels her around.

Definitely No from me for living in a haunted home with unknown ghosts…..

Sounds like a horror to clean 🙂 It reminds me of a German children’s book about an American family that moves into an old European haunted castle  and scare the ghosts with all their new technology and appliances. I would love to have a ghost in the house (but he should be sleep- and potty-trained)

LilliV :  1869? thats a new build where I live lol

I dont think us british are as creeped out as americans because everything is old here… I was born in what use to be the death row building before being abandoned for 40 years then turned into a hospital for victims of the blitz during the war and eventually becoming a working public hospital – if anything should be haunted that place should but I spent half my childhood there and never saw/heard/felt anything
