So I was just doing research to see when my AF is due based on ovulation around CD 20-21 (Day 1 was first day of early MC). I stumbled upon a site where ladies discussed that an egg released after CD 20 is too mature to get pregnant. So, for those who have experienced late ovulation, chime in on your experience TTC!
-Note that last month was a 28 day cycle for me, which ended with BFP> CP/Early MC, so I’m not a regular long cycler.

I ovulate very late, anywhere from CD25-35, and I haven’t gotten a BFP yet. My RE says that it is just on the border of normal to a little late, though there are many ladies (here, I believe, or on Hellobee) that did get pregnant even ovulating as late as CD50 something. Normally when you ovulate, you’re just slower to produce a mature follicle. I dont think late ovulation is because the follicle is too mature, at least that was not the case for me. I had a u/s on my first visit with the RE on CD23, and measured a 14mm follicle so it definitely wasnt mature yet. and I O’d 3 days later right on schedule for it to be ready. The issue my RE said was that it is possible that it is harder for the embryo to implant b/c it’s the lining that gets too old.

This cycle I O’d on CD28 and got my BFP! Honestly, we weren’t even actively trying yet, but so far so good! It’s still very early for me, but it’s very possible to get a BFP with a later ovulation! 🙂

I ovulated on CD22 and got a BFP. I am currently about 6 weeks, so it’s definetly possible to O late and still get a BFP. Fx for you and sending lots of baby dust your way for a sticky bean.

Are you asking in reference to people that have “average” 28 day cycles??? I ovulated on cd22 and got a BFP, currently 8 weeks, but I also have longer cycles at 35/36 days.

No, I suppose I mean longer cycles too. I mean, I’m on CD 31 already, although I just saw some pink (sorry for TMI), I’m only 10 DPO so I expected (and so does FF) that AF will arrive on CD 36. Congrats on your BFP!!!
That’s music to my ears! Congrats on your BFP, and thank you!
Congrats to you two! Happy & Healthy 9 months to you!
Thanks for that feedback. This makes more sense to me than the old egg story, but honestly the whole process blows my mind a little bit! FX to you for a BFP!

This is my third pregnancy. First two pregnancies I ovulated after CD20 and both ended in missed MC (11 weeks & 9 weeks). This pregnancy I ovulated on CD 15 and am currently 16 weeks along, and baby is healthy so far. It could be a complete coincidence or it could be related. Ovulating late did not effect my ability to conceive those two times however. I’ve always had long cycles. The cycle I got pregnant on this time around was very unusual/short for me.

I ovulated on CD20 and am currently 16w5d pregnant with a healthy baby, so it can happen! Other months I usually o’d on CD16.

I had 36 day cycles. We BD’d on CD 23 and I’m certain I ovulated on CD 23-25 (probably closer to 23-24) and got a BFP.
