Which linen color looks best in this space? I was originally going to use ivory but am concerned that the space will be too light/washed out.
Wedding with light linens (we will have these chairs, but brown):
Wedding with dark linens:
Mockup of navy vs. ivory with our place settings:
Ugh, I can’t believe I’m actually devoting energy to this…

I like the darker! Are you doing any sort of centerpieces?

I think the ivory looks really clean and crisp, but I don’t think either would look bad.

IMO the Ivory is so monotone with the actual venue colors. I would jazz it up with some color!

I prefer the ivory, it looks more wedding-y. The navy makes it all look much darker.

Bah, half of the comments are for navy and half for ivory. More help please!

New photo. On the right hand side, you can see ivory and blue tablecloths. Ignore the purple.

I love the navy… it looks classy and rich in this setting. You can choose uplighting, lighter decor and candlelight to keep the atmosphere romantic and avoid it becoming dark! Obviously, the ivory is versatile so you can’t go wrong either way!

My vote is for ivory, the navy is too dark IMO

Thank you to those for voted/commented over the weekend. One last bump for Monday morning bees- you know you want to look at linens and not your work email inbox…

I think Ivory is more classic/elegant ! But it’s totally a matter of personal taste

I like them both, but I actually think the light linens really light up the space. So I would go with them!

What time of day/season is your wedding? If it’s going to be sunny out (daytime wedding), I’d go with the ivory. If it’s going to be dark out (evening wedding), I’d go with the navy. Being dark like that during a brunch type of deal might feel incongruent. Although I don’t think you could go wrong with either.
If you’re having an evening wedding, it might be beneficial to ask your photographer. I know that sounds crazy, but having low lighting is really really difficult for pictures! Believe it or not, the lighter linens would really help with those shots of people enjoying each other’s company at the tables (like during cocktail hour, special dances, maybe even dinner- hopefully most people are dancing after that!) and detail shots
@SoInLove24 had a great suggestion of uplighting with candles though if you’re concerned about it being too dark but want that romantic atmosphere
