missjz:  i read the names outloud before reading your story, and agree that odette violet does not go together. Rememmber that your daughter will not share.your sentimental attachment and may just be annoyed that they do not flow.

I agree with an alternative middle name! Did your grandma have a middle name? Valentine is a boys name.to me, but i still like it for a middle name!

I like Odette Violet. They don’t rhyme to me (but I am in Oz lol) and I am big on using family names.

I’m not too keen on naming the kid after the day she was conceived though…. a bit Too Much Information for me lol. If you do then maybe keep that on the down low

I really like Valentine. It sounds like such an old Hollywood type name! I don’t like that Odette and Violet rhyme (or the fact that they’re right next to each other makes you stress the second syllable of Violet, making them rhyme).

I know said you and your husband have already locked in your choice for a first name, but I much prefer Violet over Odette. Violet with another middle name would be lovely.

Aww Odette was the name of my pop bellied pig, I love that name 🙂 I vote for Violetta or Valentina, just flows better. I for one enjoy using my middle name and do so quite a bit.
