This year we’ll have 2, and next year we expect 2. But we’re kind of on the young side, most of our friends are still single. My FH has a big family and most of his cousins are in their 20s, so I’m sure it will increase over the next several years.

3 of my fiance’s college friends all got engaged this Summer as did we. The three of these couples all got engaged 1-2 months before us but we are getting married before them all, in less than 2 weeks! So next year we have 3 weddings….and the kicker is somehow they all picked the month of May, and all picked back to back weekends. So we literally have 3 weddings 1 after another for 3 weekends. One in California, one in Florida and now one in Charlston. Then my coworker is getting married in August in South Carolina..

We are hoping to be pregnant by May and we have a family vacation in August each year which im hoping gets us out of going to my coworkers wedding.

Its hard because they will be fun, we would love to attend them all but you are right OP the cost is insane, and personally i am not willing to sacrifice what vacation time we do have for that many weddings. Currently trying to convince my fiance to decline 2 of the 4 weddings. He is in one of them so we have to attend at least 1 of them.

We had 3 weddings this year, including our own. July (ours), August, September. I was a bridesmaid in one. I love weddings, in a perfect world I’d have one to attend every month lol.

There was one year where we went to 5 weddings. That was the most. The challenging thing was, all our friends got married within a 3-year range, with the 5 weddings being smack in the middle. So it was:

    First year: 4 weddings

    Second year: 5 weddings

    Third year: 3 weddings

So after all that we were EXHAUSTED! And then about a year and a half later my husband and I got married, after most of our friends were all done, in a small destination wedding where we only invited 28 people 😉

I do love weddings but there was a time in there where they just got less fun. Buy a dress, get a hotel, write a check, dry clean your suit, etc. Now when we go to a wedding it’s fun again because they aren’t happening every month or so.

maritabee33 :  The most I’ve had in one year is 3.  I had 3 last year, and I’ve had 2 this year.

I’m in my late 20s and most of my friends are late 20s-early 30s.  Very few of them seem interested in marriage.  Many of them have been in long term relationships and many of them have children.

I wonder if that will change in a few years.  I selfishly hope so!  I’ve been to soooo many baby showers, and I just love weddings so much more haha.

My brother and sister got married 6 weeks apart.

Then my other sister and brother got married 3 months apart.  Too many family weddings at once!

We had 13 one year. We actually invited to 14 but 2 clashed on the same day so we had to choose. It was a crazy year!!! Not to mention expensive 🙈

Yes this is definitely a thing! The year my daughter was born we had 7, but three were outside the country so we declined. We only went to the weddings that we were in the bridal party for (3 for me, 1 for DH). It was still so hard attending the showers, bachlorettes/bachelor parties and then arranging childcare for the weddings. Not to mention expensive, especially after 3 months of unpaid maternity leave. I wouldn’t have missed our closest friends’ weddings for the world but it was definitely some added stress to do so with an infant.
