My engagement ring has a very thin, knife-edge band which I love. But I don’t want my wedding band to be the same size because:
a) I dig the look of mis-matched rings, as I plan on stacking a couple more on over the years
b) I want to wear the wedding band on its own and for me, the knife-edge band works best when it’s accentuating a center stone.
So my question is—what do you think of these two together? In the picture with the diamond band, the wedding band is 2.2 and the engagement ring is 1.7.
I also included a picture of a plain band (just for size comparison, I want stones on my wedding band) that is a 2mm.
Thanks for the input!
Thinner band (would have stones)

@Buttercupmcgee: The first pics look great!

I like the first one! The band on my e-ring is really thin and I ordered some test bands that were the same width just to see how they looked together and I didnt like it.

@Buttercupmcgee: I’m with you – I really like the look of different thicknesses for the wedding and engagement rings. I love the thicker diamond band in the first pic.

@ceebree: Thanks, I think I like it too!
@allyfally: Me too! It’s weird how I like the thin band on its own but not stacked together
@bleusteel: Great minds think alike:-). thanks for the help!

@Buttercupmcgee: I picked the thicker band.
My e-ring is the same as yours, and I had the same reaction when I paired it with the w-band it “matched”. I hated it! haha. Once I tried on a thicker band, it looked awesome! 🙂

I’m really digging the thicker one – especially if you want to wear it alone 🙂

@Buttercupmcgee: I love them together! Will you do me a favor and show me your bling band first, then plain band, then e-ring stacked? I’m thinking about getting a 2mm plain band to space out my halo and thicker wedding band and would love to get an idea what it looks like!! 🙂

@MrsWBS: Oooo, you should! I totally would, except the plain band is really the back side of the bling band, haha! It gets thicker where the stones are. I think you should go for it, you can always wear a plain band on another finger!

I like the thicker band too, very pretty!

@Buttercupmcgee: I love the thicker band! I love that it’s roughly the same width as your halo, it balances it nicely 🙂

@Buttercupmcgee: I like the thicker band with your e-ring. They go well together without being matchy… it is interesting in the best of ways. 🙂
