So this is my current set. I’d like to add a band to it…either a bezel “bubble band” or an eye & bead band. I need to get them resized anyway, so I could either have them unsoldered and put an open band in the above mentioned styles as a “spacer” band so they all sit flush, OR I could keep them soldered and add the above mentioned band to the back of the stack. Ether way, is have to resolder the current band to SOMEthing because the diamonds only go about 1/3 of the way around and it always spins since the diamonds are so much heavier than the back of the band. I’m not sure how I feel about having an open band because I’m not sure if it’ll get caught on stuff and Id like my set to not be so high maintence in terms of how careful I have to be with it. Would stacking with a gap look stupid? Anyone care to add pics of their stacks? Especially if there’s a gap? (But even if there’s not, because ring porn lol.)

Perhaps I’m stupid today, but I’m not sure I understand what you are describing. Can you explain it another way?

are you confused about the order of the bands, or what an “open band” is?

greeneyedbee : I don’t think stacking with a gop would look bad, it’s a pretty minimal gap anyway so I think it’d work nicely. I think if your new band will be thinner than your wedding band, then it’d look best in the middle.
I stack with my 6 prong solitaire and there is a gap, but I rarely even notice it. Here’s mine

very pretty, thanks for sharing!

I’m not a fan of mismatched bands. I soldered with a gap (although I’m considering going back to flush).

I love the gap! I would stack with a gap if thats what you like. I agree with your thoughts on the open band being more high maintenance.

You’re other post you made about changing the big moissy head for smaller real diamond is gone. Imma hope to do the same with my moissy Did you find out any thing from Stuller?

Would you mind showing me the bottom of your rings. I was thinking of getting mine done like that but didn’t know how they would do it. I love the gap.

no I’m not changing my stone. But I’ve become intrigued with various stones so I’d like to keep this stone and I’m debating on whether to get a diamond necklace or diamond earrings. Or a diamond 7 stone band to wear by itself. But then part of me wants a bright blue topaz and/or a padparadscha stone too so I am figuring out what I want for now. And then I can’t decide whether I want the 7 stone ring to be diamond or moissanite. Oye!! I need to just get off the bee because it’s making me want EVERYTHING 😂

I’m not a fan of open bands.
wedfing bands are a circle for a reason…to represent never-ending love.
For me, at least, and open band is bad ju-ju!

The styles you mentioned are pretty, but I think they’d look too busy as an open band in the middle. For some reason, when it’s part of a stack, I think plainer open bands work better. Could you try some styles with your current set and see if you like that look? I think that would work, but I also think your set is gorgeous as it is!
Oh and I’m just gonna enable you right now by mentioning how cheap blue topazes are! Just got my first one recently 😍
