I voted to splurge because we will be having both at our wedding. I think they are both creative and fun favors for guests. You can’t go wrong with anything edible as a favor, and with a candy buffet, it lets the guests be hands on and choose what they want. Not to mention how incredible the photos of the finished product will turn out. I also love the idea of the photobooth. Our was a gift from my future in-laws. We went to a bridal show together, and they fell in love and booked it right away lol. The guests will get one of the strips of photos and the other will go into a guest book that they can sign. If you can afford to do both, I say go for it.

If I have to pick one, I’d say photobooth.  People will love the candy and enjoy it at the moment.  But the photobooth is super fun and will be something your guests can take home and keep forever (if they want).

Plus, I’m not sure if your photobooth company offers this, but ours is providing two copies of all photo strips.  Guests will leave one copy in our guest book and sign it, then keep the 2nd copy.  I’m super excited to see all the fun pictures that we’ll end up with.  🙂

Oh no problem and if you need anything else I’m getting all my stuff and things transported from Dallas to Tyler (about a 2 hr drive). I can let you know what vendors Im working with. I’m having a photo booth as well. My wedding planner wanted me 2 have a candy bar but I preferred the dessert bar and I had to choose 1.

We had both at our wedding, but I voted for just the photobooth because it got much more use, BY FAR.  I actually just threw the remaining candy from our candy bar in the dumpster because we’re kitten proofing and it’s been sitting in a shopping bag outside our kitchen for 3 months.  If you aren’t too concerned about funds, both are fun, but our photobooth was active and exciting for hours until our photographers shut it down, and we got awesome pictures from it.

@MrsRedPumps:  I agree that anything else always mostly gets tossed. I go for CANDY BUFFET! I have yet to be at a wedding that has one but I would totally be down for that! 🙂

Photobooth all the way!  There’s enough dessert if you count both dessert course PLUS the cake.  An event coordinator at one venue even admitted to my fiance and myself that the Viennese Dessert option is a “waste of money” but nice to have if you insist on having one.

Photobooths will definitely give you and  your guests more memories. But, a candy bar is more affordable than your standard cake and there will likely be more options for each guest’s personal preferences. So, if the candy bar would replace the dessert (and there would be no dessert with the photobooth), then definitely go for the candy bar.

If you can swing both in your budget, do both! Otherwise do the photobooth. It appeals to more people than candy IMO and the memories are lasting and the candy gets eaten. Plus if your company gives you the digital files, you may get photos of people that you otherwise wouldn’t have. We are doing both a photo booth and dessert bar.
