tourmalinebride : I haven’t actually tried on any rings with pave bands, but I do have a rather large white sapphire emerald eternity band that I wear all the time as a promise ring. It was uncomfortable at first, but I did get used to it. And you’re right, once I am working there’s no way I’ll wear my blingy e-ring to work. I will probably just get a plain gold band to wear when I’m seeing patients 🙂

All three of these rings are stunning! I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.
I originally wanted a halo oval with a thin band. Like you, that was the style I was eyeing before my husband proposed. If you haven’t done so already, I would highly recommend going to try some on just to make sure that’s what you want. What looked great on pinterest and other peoples fingers just looked odd on mine. I can’t explain it – I still think that style is gorgeous but it just looked so weird on my finger. I ended up wanting the simplicity of a round solitaire instead and so that’s what he went with.
Also, I didn’t notice that the specific oval ring I had my eye on at the time sat so low that a wedding band wouldn’t sit flush with it. So if that’s something that is important to you then let him know that as well. Good luck!
