When I go shoe shopping I always look for these three things: style, quality, and price. There is nothing like finding a great deal on cute shoes but the quality might not be the best. I have found great quality shoes that have held up extremely well for years but aren’t very fashionable and were a little more expensive. I generally try to get a shoe that excels at all 3 but what is the FIRST thing you look for when buying shoes?

First thing I look for when buying shoes is style. It’s the first thing that’s in my face, really. So the order of questions for me is: Do I like how it looks, do I like how it feels/is constructed, is it worth the price. Getting a “yes” for all 3 questions would be nice, but I’ll sometimes settle for 2 out of 3.

Honestly comfort is the number one thing that leads me to actually purchase a shoe. I’m obviously first attracted to the style, but if it’s uncomfortable, I won’t buy it becuase I know it will end up sitting in the closet.

Quality for me. I hate cheap shoes. Not on others, but I can’t stand them on me. I have fewer pairs of shoes than any other female and most men that I know. I’m rather picky.

I’m currently living abroad, in a place where high quality shoes barely exist and the environment roughs up whatever you’re wearing anyway. Since I assume that the quality will be relatively low and go through shoes like crazy, I look first for price. Then style/comfort.
In the states, I go for quality/comfort, then style, then price. I don’t mind spending more for something really good that will last.

Style catches my eye first. Then it must be comfortable. Quality usually ties in with comfort from my experience. Price is last, I’m willing to splurge a little within reason if it meets style and comfort.

Quality. I’m REALLY picky about style and my tastes change quite regularly, so I’d rather buy something that isn’t perfect style-wise but that will look good and last for years. Also I’d rather spend more money on a great pair of shoes that will last, than buy new cheaper shoes every few months.

That I can walk in them – but I’ve had major ankle surgery so probably not in the majority.

As pp’s have alluded to.
Style gets me to check out the shoe.
Quality gets me to consider buying the shoe.
Price is what seals the deal.

I choose by style, then the price decides if I actually purchase or not. Lol. Quality isn’t a huge issue for me as long as they are comfortable. If they are ugly I won’t buy them even if they are cheap.
